In fairness to Fields, he gave the Steelers the lead late in the fourth quarter and Dak and da 'boys carved up our defense like a T-day Turkey, posting the the winning TD late in the game. Elandon Roberts almost forced a T.O. but I think Dak recovered the goal line fumble.

Fields is a hellava athlete and has the heart of a lion, but a QB he is not.

Your post that I quoted had TLDR at the beginning of the post before the sentence you typed.

    Maybe I'm hallucinating.

I wasn't happy with the hire, but once hired, I always give someone a chance before I crush them.

He was a disaster in every way possible.

I think this is correct. We feel he has some value, so we will wait until we get a good price and ship him out. If it buys us 4-6 weeks with a more experience back up, then even better.

That is just your opinion. Stating it more dramatically doesn't make it fact. My opinion is that I would be perfectly happy to never see Rudolph on the field for the steelers ever again.

They probably got fooled by Pickett's last season at Pitt when he was a Heisman finalist.

I remember that game Dallas gave the Steelers two interceptions, but Fields could only put up three points by halftime.

plus the Cowboys had so many injuries on defense, they had JV players playing
that game was enough of me seeing Fields

There were other minor factors during Matt Canada’s time with the Steelers. None of them change the main fact. Mike Tomlin hired him and then promoted him. Canada was Tomlin’s guy. The offense stalled, the scheme never fit the roster, and the coordinator stayed in place longer than the results justified. That is not an assistant acting on his own. That is a head coach standing behind a hire he made. Canada was Tomlin's fall guy.

Canada was so bad they fired him while under contract, something they hadnt done in nearly a century.
