I agree. It seems like we always have to keep a couple of guys that aren't even worthy of a flag football team. LOL.

Gay and Curtis Brown are pretty high up there too for me.

Ditto as well. Keeping those 4 players (DJ, Whimper, Gay, and C.Brown) amoung some of the sideline antics is why I'm loosing hope for this year really fast.

Maybe we are an "equal opportunity" franchise and we're trying to keep these guys on our team to show that we don't discriminate against those who are mentally handicapped. LOL.

If the Steelers can't find replacements that are better than those 4, we may be in deeper do-do than I thought.

It's called subtraction by addition ,my win/loss guesstimate may change if some of these cuts are a indication of our talent evaluation.some of these guys are head-scratchers to say the least. I usually give our FO the benefit of the doubt but tape don't lie, or does it?

Still happens and I think Baxter, Hawthrone and J Brown could garner some interest. Are they the best out of 300, have no idea but they are guys I want on the team in the future, hence why it concerns me that they are out there.

Edit: confused the hell out of me with the post update.....Hawthorne is going to be a practice squad guy if he gets through waivers. Also, Taamu might not make it past waivers.

Aha - didn't realise he'd been around that long. Cheers for the info.

I don't think he gives an upgrade on Golden or Thomas, but still a shame to see him go.

ok folks a little trivia- when was the last time the Steelers cut the team's leading rusher from the season before in training camp, and who was it?

One of coach T's pet peeves is fumbles and rightfully so. When Dwyer dropped his second i said oh s**t. I am surprised by a few other cuts though.

Erric Pegram was leading rushing in 1995 actually, and Foster was traded first- then cut by Carolina. Keep guessing...

Foster missed six weeks of the 1994 season with an injured knee and, as a result, out-rushed Bam Morris by only 851-836. I was a big fan of his for about a year but his injuries and whining wore quickly.
