Historically, offensive linemen account for around 20% of all first-round selections over multi-year stretches, representing one of the highest absolute draft allocations by position group.

It's going to be an interesting week. I kinda hope Imax is ready to go at RT because I can't trust Cook out there for a few game stretch until Imax is ready. Cook probably would've been better off on the left side. And i gotta say the same about Anderson. Perhaps starting Dunker week 1 is the wrong idea as well, but Anderson just isn't it. Anderson, like Cook, is better suited for the left side. We may have to look outside of this locker room for short term stopgaps until Dunker & Imax are ready.

Defensively Safety is a massive weakness that could use outside help. And i tend to think that Roberts will be readded in the coming hours, despite reports that state otherwise.

I really can't judge this roster until this time next week when natural adjustments (folk to the ir/additions) take place.

It shouldn't take as long as it has. Between inept scouting (Green) and inept coaching (Dotson) this org has badly fumbled the offensive line in the last 5 years. It's no wonder they brought MM in.

Most of the local media who have watched Howard in camp for two years say the same thing .

Were these the same guys who were losing their nut over how good Mendoza and Beck looked after 1 preseason game by any chance? Just asking so as to establish a baseline for the quality of their work.

Problem is Moore is still a better Tackle than Jones.

They make up almost 46 percent of the starting offense so that's not unusual. I just wish we would hit on one of these picks

I will go one further and say I wish in the last 20 yrs they had a position coach that could teach what they were running to good players

They must be on the same staff as you. You realize that guys like Dulac and Fittipaldo are freaking clueless and have been wrong on just about everything.

Nice try it was more than just them saying they don't see it with Howard. Let me guess you must be an Ohio State fan .

I think Dunker will be ready a little sooner than IMax. I went back through his preseason clips. As a run blocker, he already looks better than Anderson. But to start over a healthy Anderson, he’s going to have to clean up his pass protection. What I don’t fully understand is why they can’t just shuffle Dunker in on obvious running downs. He’s already better than Anderson in that part of the game. That’s situational football. I wish a beat writer would ask McCarthy if he’s considering exactly that.

We have some flexibility to play Ramsey at safety if we need to.

I am a Pitt fan and always have been, but I am not enamored with Allar like you seem to be. Allar has a stronger arm, I can recognize that, but that's not the only criteria to being a QB in the NFL. I am not writing off Howard because he doesn't have as strong an arm as Allar. I have been around this game long enough to know that arm strength isn't the determining factor. I believe Howard has more presence and more command of the playbook. He has shown more poise and I think these 2 rookies will have a great competition to determine who becomes the next QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The better man will win and right now I don't see either one seperrating themselves from the other.

Fair enough, but most people who have watched both Howard and Allar seems to think Allar has a better chance of being the guy.
