Figuring out what the Steelers have in either or both will essentially answer the 2027 NFL Draft Class questions on whether or not the Steelers decide to opt for a QB in the first place. Who knows at this point?! Too difficult to say, too far out to speculate and, due to the aforementioned variable, too many assumptions that can be made overall.

I would have liked to see the order reversed on the two in the last preseason game.

Seems like after Mason's good performance in the first game were had no interest in trying to rank the QBs. And honestly, maybe we never tried to rank the QBs at all and the decision for 4 of them to stay was made from day 1. I guess we'll see if that's where we are on cut down day. I think that's where we end up. It's not what I'd do, but I'm not an NFL HC.

While he didn draft him I feel the best comp is Rodgers. He fixed his mechanics. Both players ooze talent and I like what Allar has already shown. I feel McCarthy has a very good shot at developing him into the next franchise guy.

I agree, but only one of those guys ooze talent.
You can't say the Qb with the weakest arm on a 4 Qb team oozes talent.
Remember I was a Howard guy, and not a Allar guy before the preseason games. I have totally flipped after watching the preseason.

So You are saying that Howard is so bad that he can't beat Mason out?

That wouldn't be the first time Mason lost his job to Will Levis. Levis has incredible talent but is too big a meathead to make it in the NFL.

I don't get where the idea that if you cut Howard, he's gone comes from. Sure, maybe, but he's a guy who fell to the 6th round who has done nothing good in this league other than less than a half of good pre-season football against backups. He has shown so little that Mason sat the last two games because he was locked into the backup role. Howard might be signed if cut, but he'll just be another available third stringer so who knows.

I believe the Roberts cut was a handshake deal that brings him back after someone on the roster is sent to the PUP list sometime this week, and I won't be surprised if that someone is Howard.
