does wilson make it? skowronek is my favorite sleeper and a guy that has done it two preseasons in a row. hurelman. could this kid make it? he seems very smart and capable of getting open. do we look elsewhere after the cuts?

I expect Skowronek to be on the 53 man roster. He contributes on STs and is a proven capable #4/#5 WR. I just don’t know about Wilson. At some point the mental part of the game needs to catch up.

i fully agree. that is where i believe hurelman could step in. the kid is pretty good as a receiver and it doesn't seem too big a step for him.:cool:

He is a back yard Football player ..He has always got by on speed nd talent and has never been a student of the game ..IMO it is to late for him to become a crisp route runner , his best bet is to get into a zone option passing attack where timing and precision are not as Important.. The Steelers would be doing his career a favor by cutting him..

I don't want to be that guy who has knee jerk reactions in the preseason but I've seen enough of Wilson now that I will be happy if he's cut.

Skowronek and Hurleman have both shown ability and heart.

Wish we had a WR1 other than Metcalf!

You know the saying. Wish in one hand , and $hit in the other , and see which fills up 1st.
    LoL
Bernard will slowly work his way up, if Rodgers will throw to him. Rodgers has this thing about not using rookies from everything I can remember of him playing so far. So we will see, but I believe Bernard is the real deal

Skowronek is in..... coaches at every level love guys like this that can do all the dirty work willingly and happily......
Hurleman will be on the practice squad....
Wilson is in, but i'm pretty sure a draft pick will make him expendable next season...
Wetjen is in with his boom or bust potential...
The boom is too mouth watering to not take a chance on

Wilson didn’t even dress the other night. Normally I would take it as a sign he had made the team, but he hasn’t shown a damn thing to warrant such a move.

In all honestly, Roman Wilson will be on the way out but not as a cut candidate but as a potential trade target. He and Aaron Rodgers clearly cannot get on the same page; much less the likes of Will Howard or Drew Allar. Finding a new environment could do him some good.

Ben Skowronek is a Final 53 Lock on virtue of his Special Teams; something that @Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis alluded to. Way too much versatility for him to be cut as a Number Four wideout.

Should try to pick up Cedric Wilson who was released by the Lions.

I would be willing to bet that Skowronek is about as safe as it gets. High quality ST and #5 WR is a valuable position. Wetjen makes the team as the return specialist. It all depends on what we want at WR4. Germie Bernard has looked pretty good so far in preseason, so I'd imagine he gets plenty of snaps at WR3. We can rotate him with Wilson or we can cut Wilson for a vet that can play both outside and slot. The list of available is below.

    • Tyreek Hill
    • Cedric Tillman
    • JuJu Smith-Schuster
    • Brandin Cooks
    • Curtis Samuel
    • Josh Reynolds
    • Gabe Davis
    • D.J. Turner
    • River Cracraft
    • Cedrick Wilson
    • Mecole Hardman
    • Dante Pettis
    • Dan Chisena
I'd say JuJu is a decent option for a year. Tillman is a younger option, but meh. Samuel is intriguing as a slot, but he has had back to back years of low usage after having a solid career for 4-5 years before that and on the last legs of his career.
