AI Robot maids are not going to be a thing in 5 years.. or 10 years.

AI is good for making visual slop and as a designer in the print industry, its definitely had an impact but not in a good way IMO. Now we have everyone telling us they have a design already yet they don’t understand anything about DPI or how a cool wrapped van can’t be printed because we need a flat design for the printer with their correct information on it that will scale properly.

A maid robot is going to break your dishes, windows, tables and kill you on your sleep. They lack dexterity and will crash into walls and people.

AI can crunch numbers quickly and pump out data, it can even find ways to work around firewalls and such which is dangerous but its burning tons of capital with no profit margins.

Its all hype and once these companies stop buying each others debts and investing in each others products its going to come crashing down.

and not to get political but AI was used to launch missiles at Iran. The problem was no AI model never thought about Iran shutting down the Strait or starting a proxy war with our allies.. or using cheap ass drones to deplete our expensive ass defense missiles.

I did make a nice chunk off AI stocks but I need to get out before it pops.

A personal example: The development I live in had a wheeled robot the size of a small lawn mower patrolling the sidewalks, trails, gates, and fences 24/7. Mounted with cameras and a microphone, it could see everything, hear, call security, aid people in need by calling for help, and more. It did not bump into anything. We had it for three months on a free trial. The company’s pitch was that it would cost less than a security person does for two years. It worked well, but it scared some people and pets, so the neighborhood board decided not to buy it. Robots can and will reduce the need for cheap labor. This is not science fiction. And on that note, the great sci-fi writers of the past men like Philip K. Dick and Isaac Asimov are long dead. I would love their take on the modern-day reality of robots.AI-enabled robots are already being used in warfare. In the not-so-distant future they will also replace some of the expensive tools we use to shoot down missiles with cheaper systems. Armed with lasers and able to move through the air, they are like scary dragonflies that can quickly take out drones and missiles.Hypersonic missiles are already dangerous enough in the wrong hands.

This post won't age well.

Also the impact goes so far beyond labor it isn't funny. You're going to have AI performing high end tasks like ER surgeries, fixing electronic equipment and all manner of vehicles, performing as teachers and professors etc. In fact I'd say medicine is going to get absolutely hammered by this technology, and they deserve it the way they gouge their customers. Can't wait to see it happen.

 

I do for 3 hours at least once a week for solitude and peacefulness. Makes me appreciate what I own more.

NFL Network Under Fire for Abruptly Cutting to a Commercial During Steelers vs. Bills Preseason Game

Thursday night’s Steelers–Bills preseason finale should have been a simple night of football. Instead, the broadcast itself became part of the conversation, and not for a good reason. As the game unfolded on NFL Network, viewers kept getting pulled away from the action by commercial breaks or some bizarre distractions.

The repeated interruptions quickly wore on fans, turning what was supposed to be a simple football game into an increasingly frustrating viewing experience.

“NFL Network has some strange split-screen going on right now where someone is pouring a beer into a glass. We did not even see the first play of the drive. Just a bizarre night lol,” Steelers Now’s Derrick wrote on X.

And he was not the only one complaining. Multiple people noted the interruption on X. According to some, the Bills broadcast promoted a beer horn ad for 15 minutes or so. In fact, the Bills have given game-day drinking a very Buffalo twist.

Officially known as the Labatt Beer Horn, it is a novelty, reusable drinking vessel shaped like a bison horn and sold exclusively at Highmark Stadium. So, to promote it, they had a beer-horn demonstration segment, with former center Mitch Morse joining Steve Tasker and Andrew Catalan in the booth. Together, they showed viewers how to pour and drink a beer from the novelty vessel.

How many practice beers Morse had beforehand is anyone’s guess, but there was one unmistakable detail: during the demonstration, he repeatedly called Steve Tasker ‘Chris’.

Those who were watching the game on the phone went into the commercial and returned after the Steelers scored a touchdown.

 

What? Most everyone, including AI and government officials, thought about the Strait as well as cheap ass drones. Our "leaders" decided to ignore all that for their own reasons.

 

That’s a demo video if what they hope it can achieve but these “robots” are still being controlled by humans in suits.

When Elon tried to show everyone his robots, there were teens in a room next to it in skeletons controlling their movements.

I seen a robot patrolling a parking deck but that is just scanning plates. It can’t valet park. A robot security guard can’t stop a criminal from entering a home or arrest them.

 

That would be our red rhino, Dunker! Some people notice this.

please point to where I said it was going away. I said the bubble is going to burst like the dot.com era or housing bubble. The internet didn’t go away and housing didn’t vanish but a lot of people lost a ton of money when the bubble burst.

 

A robot can see and hear more consistently than a person in some jobs. Cameras and mics do not get tired, and software can flag motion, a face, a gun-shaped object, or a sound and call a guard on site. Are you unaware of this?

A person still has to make the stop. The same idea shows up in the military: sensors detect; a human (or a separate authorized system) decides what happens next. Self-parking cars already exist. Robotics are increasing in skill with each passing month.
