Id cut Allar. He's shown the least under pressure. He did not perform in college either. It's all unrealized tools. We can get tools every year.

I still don't believe a single QB gets cut but if I were forced to choose one, Howard would get my vote. Has very little to do with him and a lot more with how much more Drew Allar has progressed. Drew's superior ceiling, talent and potential warrant greater resource allocation than Howard just based on the Preseason alone. That said and again, it is likely all 4 will be kept. Why?!


Aaron is done after this season. Mason is likely gone after this season unless the Steelers extend him for a backup and Will is still on his Rookie Contract. The only other QB that would be Drew Allar. Will could likely be Drew's backup and the Steelers will likely have to search for another QB for QB 3 or the team does extend Mason Rudolph and he is the backup in 2027.

Still picked Howard to make it to the PS. Didn't see him play tonight though, but did catch the 2nd half and Allar looked OK for QB3 IMO.

Nice to have 2x TDs. Nothing special on either, but threw to the right guy and let them make plays.

Based on MM's comments, I won't be surprised if we keep them all. But I think I'd rather keep someone who might play this year than Howard (who I think will make the PS). If he did initially make the PS, I think the team (Steelers in this case) could choose to elevate him to the 53 to block the poach off the PS.

This has the only clip I've seen of the pick.

If it's an option route, I think Howard's wrong here. He's throwing to the middle of the field when the other S is rotating into that space. 81 looks like he's running to where there's space. Will be interesting to see how this one gets broken down.

 

Guys with Allar's arm strength don't come around every year. Not saying that's all it takes to become a good NFL QB, but it definitely helps.

 

The Pittsburgh Steelers could end up keeping four quarterbacks, but former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would like to see the team keep three quarterbacks, and try to move Mason Rudolph to the practice squad.

 

Yes, he looks great. I love the way he can fit the ball in tight spots down the field. However, that's not enough. He can't play right now. He make one amazing throw, and then it's three and out. And it's like that going back to PSU. He just looks great, but does not play great.

Interesting...my guess would be that Mason gets claimed...but he's more expensive I guess.

If that was the plan, I'd prefer to try to trade him than lose him of the PS for nothing but the extra cap space.

Return wouldn't be stellar or anything, but I bet we could get a day 3 pick.
