No, but he just watched the team give out extensions to guys who aren't even full-time starters. He is a better player than Herbig. He is a far better player than Benton.

I stll can't believe anybody actually went so far as to call wha the is doing immoral, but the team putting the screws to him because it has leverage is brilliant. The truth is, there is nothing immoral about either position.

Who here would trade Porter for a next year`s 1st round draft pick? Maybe a poll about this?

I never said they were being cheap or implied they were being cheap. You're making it up. It was not the premise of anything I said. You are the one that brought up ownership's finances and accused Porter of being greedy and having a huge ego. That's what I'm responding to. You just don't like that I lampooned your thoughts on the subject by showing that the team has all the money in the world, yet you begrudge them nothing and think it's fine for them to pay much less than market value to players that have earned it.

I always say the team can't be cheap when they're spending the entire salary cap every year. You're accusing me of saying things here that go against what I have always said about that and always so say every single time that accusation comes up from someone. This has nothing to do with the team being cheap. It has to do with how much they value him and them trying to keep his value down. Unfortunately for the team, his stats and comparable players say otherwise. If they end up signing him for a lesser number, it will only be because he chooses to accept less. By your definition, the team is being the greedy side of the negotiation and Porter is willing to take less and sacrificing for the team.

He is honoring it. Until he doesn't play in a game and we know without question that he is faking an injury. There is nobody that can really prove that he doesn't have an issue going on with his back.

People keep insisting that they know exactly what Porter is asking for, the condition of his back, the greed in his heart, the size of his ego, his morality , and any other random thoughts that fans are claiming they know for a fact.

Until he is sitting out regular season games in protest and stating that those are his intentions until he gets a contract, it's all speculation.

Yep you’re right. Honestly at this point 9 really don’t care. Of this team doesn’t fix their offensive line issues worrying about Porter will be an after thought anyway.

I heard the Steelers inquired about trading for CB Carrington Valentine with GB.

I really like Porter and would like him to be a cornerstone of the defense.

But next year might be the most important draft for us in a long time. And having another 1st to move up for a QB seem like it would be very good for us. Especially since we're going to do all we can to be picking ~ 20 OA again.

Good rant and some of this is true however he is 100% faking his injury come on now. MM said as much that he wants him out there but the contract is at an impasse. He didn’t say he wants him out there but his back is hurt.

It depends on how this college QB class does. If it flops like last year it won’t be the case unless we are picking top 3 or something.

That is what I said. I am not, nor have ever been a GM.
But I have worked around some of these guys, Washington used to have one of the best in the business till Dan Snyder ran him off.
There are some who are clueless as to how the cap works, I can assure you with upmost certainty, I am not one. That said, by the same measure I am not an expert and can only write about what I think or my opinion.
But I am not pulling some crap from OTC which isn't bad to base opinion from. I build my from experience from the league.
It is time to move on, Omar and company will do what they do. If they opt to pay him that money, that's what they'll do.

Y'all are acting like someone is asking you to come up with the cash.

It is all monopoly money and funny math anyways.

JPJ is doing exactly what someone in his position should do. He has no reason to assume any additional risk by exposing himself to injury or failure by practicing or playing.

The Steelers are doing exactly what someone in their position should do. They are attempting to create an environment that pushes the player into signing for the least amount of cash possible.

All the "noise" in the media is just speculation. I read several of the "reports" about trading or being at an impasse. There was no actual content or information. It was just dudes with a platform speculating the same as we are doing here. Neither the Steelers or JPJ's camp have said much of anything about it.

I also find it hilarious that the fan reaction to these things seems heavily tied to their personal emotional response to the player involved. Unless you were demanding that Watt not hold out or Cam should just play....kinda hard to claim a stance on JPJ doing that is just "logic".

Some times you can believe the reports some times not

It all depends on if it fits a false narrative or out right lie

At least from what I have seen
