I know I know its way to early to be talking draft talk on the cusp of the regular season to begin! But every year since I was a kid, my dad and I make bets with each other on what position player we will draft in the 1st round of the next draft. He doesn't watch much college football so we never put a name on a player, just the position. We do it right before the season because it makes it more difficult to predict because the college football season is just starting, we dont know the ending season record, or injuries, or how free agency unfolded. Actually its kind of difficult. We write down what position we chose, then we put them on the side of the fridge until april. The bets up to 50 bucks if you hit the right position. But I picked safety last year and obviously lost, and he actually picked OLB. Since he guessed it, he thinks hes Kevin Colbert now and acts like he made the decision to pick Jarvis Jones. Now so money trades hands we have a tie breaker if neither of us pick the right position. We write down our 1st round pick, then we flip a coin and the winner of the coin toss gets to choose offense or defense. If we don't get the right position, you still can win by picking the right side of the ball the 1st rounder plays on. Anyway I was just curious what position you guys would all pick not knowing any outcome of either college or the NFL.

FYI: This year I chose TE... and I lost the coin toss and I have the defense as the tie breaker and dad chose CB

It's the offense's turn so I'll go with either WR or TE.. Seeing how I can only pick 1, I'll go with WR.

Agree... who of our current corners have the best instinct covering, can read and make adjustments and good with the break. Who is going to be the play maker to make the diff. this year consistently??

While I would say CB or OL, we've spent a lot of picks on those positions in recent years. We could do with drafting CB higher than previous years, of course - I think the idea of finding diamonds in the rough is wearing a little thin - but I think Adams and GIlbert would have to really stick things up to warrant a 1st or 2nd on a tackle next year.

We never pick CB's in the first round.

I think Adams has potential, and want to see what he's got at LT. I think it's a possibility but with where we usually pick any LT would be a project anyway.

I think ILB is the most realistic scenario. We've shown interest in them as of late, and Foote needs to be replaced real soon, and we've got nobody on the roster to do so.

We better pick a CB and a Safety in that order. Ike's best years are behind him, and Troy and Clark only have a couple more years. It is time for this front office to draft a stud CB in round 1. This is now a purely passing league.

Damn, that's a tough thing to do. I guess I would lean towards drafting a tackle. But I can see where people would want a corner back but we don't seem to like drafting them that early. Inside linebacker doesn't seem like an option for how the steelers seem to be viewing Spence and Williams. I guess I would vote for a tight end

    1. Cameron erving LT Fla.st. if he comes out. head and shoulders above adams at LT and adams can go back to the right side.

    2. Kyle van noy OLB BYU. load up on these playmakers.

    3. Travis swanson C/G Arkansas the kid is a center but moves extremely well for a guy his size, making his transition to guard very easy. his coaches say they haven't seen a guy with movement skills like that since joe Thomas.

    4. Daniel Sorenson S BYU great addition to the future to team with the land shark. playmaker all over the field.

color me happy, happy, happy as phil would say. the line would be complete. move on for ben's final years being protected. protect ben, run the ball and we win.

Yet, he's 2 games into his NFL career. Plus, it wasn't Footes specialty either and he was a starter.
