I actually moved to Cleveland for a job in 1979 between the Steelers 3rd and 4th superbowls.

I tiptoed a lot when going out.

I also moved away in less than 6 months.

When I first got there the Steelers played Cleveland on MNF so I got the great idea to find a bar downtown. I found a police officer and asked where he suggested I go? He replied “anywhere but here”. So I took his advice.

 

Does anyone have any insight into why they would have named Watson the starter? Usually there is a contract clause, a money thing, or juxtaposition thing that explains seemingly foolish moves but I can't find one here? We all know how poor of an owner the Haslems are, but they know how to make money, so what is their angle?
