For the last preseason game let's start some of the backups.

For the last preseason game, let’s plan ahead. Start or play the following backup players who have shown ability more often—minor injuries and all. No sitting out players who would be listed as “probable.”Start the following men in this last preseason game:

    Allar
If the plan is to cut Howard, then start Allar. Give him a taste of both the first-string and second-string units. Let’s see what he can do with better talent around him. Do it.

    Spears
The man has been a pleasant surprise as a 7th-round pick. Give him some real action on first down

    Iheanachor
I want to see him play. Better to throw him into the pool in a meaningless last preseason game, get his feet wet, and let him swim than have his first action come against third-stringers.

I’m in favor of resting the starters and letting the talented rookies play in the final preseason game. Because the right-guard spot is still close, I do not want Dunker to start. Whoever starts there in this last preseason game will be the starter for the season unless he gets hurt. But I do want Dunker on the field on third-and-short over whoever starts at right guard.

Howard will be selling solar panels door-to-door in a couple of years.

Iheanachor can't even get on the practice field, but you want to start him in the third preseason game .

Absolutely. This is a training-wheels type of game. Why waste time? The rookie needs the reps. Unless his injury is worse than the media knows, start the man for the third preseason game.

Howard is not getting cut. Him and Allar will get a half each again, who gets which half is anyones guess.

I am hoping to see Max, Dunk, and WR Brandon Smith next week.

Roman was terrible, and Germie Bernard just can't get open to save his life. I was really hoping Brandon Smith would show something in preseason to help the Steelers keep a 6th WR on the 53-man roster.

When was the last time the Steelers kept four quarterbacks? My point. In case you were wondering, the year was 1995. I’m 75% sure Howard will be cut. We could always add him to the practice squad or get something like a 7th-round pick from a team that needs a QB, that does not want to want their claim to get him.

After watching Warren and Dowdle last night, I have to hold out hope that maybe DK and Pittman will play a little in game 3 to help out the starting QB.

I felt so sorry for Drew last night as all his WRs were just hot Garbage. Will Howard did not have much help either with Roman's and Germie Bernard's play at WR #1 and #2.

I think it’s highly probable that Howard gets cut and then added to the practice squad. I don’t think the team will fully give up on him yet, but I would be pretty surprised if we keep him as a 4th QB on the 53 man roster. I think whatever tiny opportunity he had to bump Rudolph is fully gone.

Allar didn't play with the first team, and he also didn't throw two bad interceptions.

Just one of the many things MM has said that doesnt sound like he has any intention of cutting Howard. Plus the report that they already said they are keeping him.

Depends on what the Bills do with their guys, but I'd like to see us flip the order. So Allar gets the harder matchups (hopefully with receivers that can catch) and Howard gets the lower competition.

See how they do when the roles get reversed.

I do hope that we can get a series with the starters. But I won't be surprised if that doesn't happen and the first time Rodgers and Pittman play together (and Rodgers plays behind this line which is 80% different than last season) is week 1 (assuming everyone is healthy).

Note that I absolutely don't want Rodgers (or Mason) out there if we put out the backup OL that Joel wants to start.

I think the first team OL played like 20 snaps along with Warren at RB, Pittman and Metcalf didn't play.

But that first pass could've been a TD if it was a better throw.

Im not absolving Howard of any blame which I think Kurt is but Wilson shares the blame on those picks.

Not a big portion of the blame. That pass was no where near him.

That or end up with a Super Bowl ring like Kenny Pickett.
