As do I. Waiting only made him more expensive.

They need to pay this guy. Dad was a Steelers legend and he is on the path also.

    Pay the man!

I like Benton, but I would have signed JP 1st!

Is JPJ a top 10 CB?
Only has given up 1 td in 3 years
    But
    Poor rush defender
    Very handsy
    As he is constantly penalized
    3 ints in 3 years
Is he worth being paid as a top CB?
Most have him just outside the top 10
Others have him in the low 20s
    Thoughts?

Dude. Playing CB is hard, and maybe the hardest outside of Qb to judge from college to the NFL.
You know how hard it is to play , and not give up a TD in two years as a starter?

    100% agree
Playing CB is like being on an island all alone
    But
    Piss poor tackling ability
Yes Deion was a shut down CB
    Also piss poor tackling ability
    But
    Neon Deion
Also had a bunch of ints
I understand the player wanting as much as he can
    But as a owner
JPJ not worth $30 million a year

And as far as some blasting
    CA3
One of the best CB in league
    Sauce Gardener
Said CA3 was the hardest wr he had to cover in college
Yet to be determined if CA3 pans out elsewhere
    To
See if it was a Tomlin issue

Do you wear overalls while working on farm?
    Tee shirt under
    Or
    Tits in the wind

‘He absolutely is a top cb in my mind. He often takes the other teams best receiver. He does t give up TD’s. I think he gets over penalized partly because he has such long arms and the refs think he is grabbing when he isn’t at times. Plus he cleaned the penalties up last year. This team needs two shut down corners, they can revolutionize the whole defense.

At best, your information is out of date.

This organization will never learn to sign these players early for less

He cleaned up the penalties, I believe he was among the fewest penalized last season.

He’s playing like a shut down corner, shut down corners get paid. He doesnt have the splash plays but I doubt that knocks down his price all that much.

Your evaluation sounds like what he was before last season, as if you somehow missed him developing into a stud cornerback. That you didn't realize he drastically reduced the penalties is a prime example.

I'm surprised Harrison didn't tell Porter Jr. to fall asleep in meetings to try and get released .

Harrison may have fell asleep in meeting, but at least he never faked being injured.

Say what you want about George Pickens attitude, but at least he never faked being injured. :hmm:

Better hope that Daylen Everette performs at a DROY level then. Not just this upcoming game but for the rest of the season. Beyond that, no other major option comes to mind.

Probably because he wasn't up for a huge extension with PIT.

The problem may be that he is a top cornerback in his mind

To date he does not have the credentials of some of the recently higher paid cornerbacks

No pro bowl no all pro 1 INT/yr

Once both sides agree to that a deal can be done

Steelers are not waiting they aren’t rushing

And how will we know this

How will we know what he signs for is not what the Steelers offered long ago
