People are freaking out over Kaleb Johnson's slow start

With that horrendous start to the season, they should probably trade Johnson right now.

 

Based on the OP Im guessing the freaking out hasn’t diminished this morning

 

Didn't touch the ball until very late, 3 yds on 2 carries. He's not gonna make the roster. In fact, he might be cut. Too many other guys stepping up while he falls down.

 

He better get on his Pony if he want's to make team. Big Lew looked mighty fine.

 

I didn't realize this was a thread started last year.

 

That would be two preseasons with Kaleb being outplayed by Nichols, third round pick or not Nichols should probably be RB3.

 

Honestly and I know it's early. After watching Nichols last night Johnson is going to have to really work hard and impress the staff. He could be on the outside looking in.

 

Johnson had better stats than Warren and Dowdle so I wouldn’t read much into last night

If he is going to be on the team he will need to play special teams so that adds up

 

One bad season in 2025, a poor 2026 camp, and barely playing in the first preseason game. That is what he’s shown so far. He’s in danger of being cut. He needs to show massive improvement in preseason game #2.Players with a chance to be the RB #3 are: Homer, Nichols, and Heidenreich.Hurting Johnson’s chances is his inability to add value on special teams.

 

I was shocked last night when Kaleb Johnson finally came in with the 3rd unit. Hell, up until that moment I though Kaleb was taking the night off with Warren and Rico.


If he has fallen so low, that he is only going to get 3rd team reps in preseason, he might as well go over and start practicing at ILB.

 

What a disappointment.
