The Steelers sign LB Elandon Roberts

Yeah, Malik Harrison is likely getting cut.

 

I just wonder if this is also a sign that Holcomb and/or Wilson isn't the answer as well.

 

I doubt it's for Wilson who has been having a good camp.

 

I don't think so. I think it strengthens the roster by getting a better player than the one they let go. Now they have another guy that has played extended time as a pretty effective player and can hold up a little better against the pass than Harrison.

I like this move.

I hope Roberts has something left in the tank, that was a great hit but the Steelers couldn't recover the fumble.

 

4,750 mil. saved by cutting harrison. they have 3,163 right now. that would put them near 8 mil. minus whatever roberts signs for on the one year deal. leaves money to go into the season.

 

He was better against the run than every FA ILB we've acquired since the demise of Shazier. Hope he still has gas left in the tank. How old is Roberts?

That's near the end of a life span for ILB.

 

As long as they use him as a backup he should be alright, he played for the new DC with the Raiders last year.

 

When I read the thread title I thought he was already on the team

He can hit. North South kind of guy with not great range. Not great in coverage, but like I said the dude can hit.

He's also past 30. Good signing though for depth
