Roethlisberger's 2004 preseason was nothing special by any stretch. He had a good TD pass to Plax...but other than that, it was.....:sleepy:

Well, Mcarthy's QB development plate is full. He has three to develop: Mason, Howard, and Allar.

Rodgers swan song= 4 qbs this year.

Or Nick is really pushing to become the "Next One" in terms of his "Journalistic Integrity"... or lack thereof.

    They are all athletic
This has been a major major problem for years with describing future qbs
    He can run
    He is athletic
    Takes some cerebral activity
    And
To be able to make different throws
    To be considered a qb
    But
It seems if a qb can run that is all the requirements needed today to be a qb
Thus the reason for all these QB failures
    Said it once
    Said it a million times
We live in a world of
    Lower Expectations

Allar has some work to do
    Deer in headlights in college
If I was a gambling man
My money says he doesn’t make it
As a fan I hope he overcomes all obstacles and becomes a HOF QB

    Disagree
Howard going to PS= Tomlin’s guy
Allar= McCarthy’s guy gives him the edge
The reindeer has nothing to worry about

Are willing to risk Howard getting poached and going to another team? That would be reckless by the steelers. Keep dreaming if you think they are cutting Howard.

i agree. that is the question, what are the people in that article basing the criteria on? not every team can have a franchise QB and even if they did not all of those have won the holy grail of the game. let's also not forget it's not just one guy playing the game. i think many should press the brakes on the we have to find a franchise QB thing. unless we win the super bowl with said franchise QB, is he truly a success?

    Carson Beck:

    15-19, 188 yards
    QB rating = 125.4

Who thinks Howard or Allar beats those numbers?..., raise your hand.

Beck was my guy, he was tailor made to play in McCarthys system. We’ll see what kind of career he ends up having in Arizona.

    Beck was mine as swell.

Dude is going to surprise a lot of people in Arizona. I don't believe Jacoby Brissett has as long of a leash as Arizona is willing to let on.

I've heard that he was poorly used at Penn State, especially the last year. Could game planning and scheming have contributed to this?

Beck will be going against Fernando Mendoza tonight. Neither one is starting but they are both coming into the game after the starters are out.

I doubt if MM is spending time developing Mason, he is what he is and there's no sense messing with it at this point.

I was pretty high on him too. Problem is, it seems the Cardinals are the latest in a string of places that don't know how to pick, use, or developed QB's.

I dont have a problem with Howard on the practice squad. I do have a problem if a qb hungry team poaches him. That just doesn't set us up well for the future. And we wld back rolling the dice with drafting a qb. Solidify the qb room so we can draft for other positions besides qb

At least Rattler is "young" in QB years.

I was just messing with SteelPen he's a South Carolina and Rattler fan, I don't think he's a good NFL QB.

At least Rattler got a chance to show what he could do with Saints. I fear Steelers will never know what Howard and Allar can do... and keep bringing in "old" QBs with experience.

Rattler also had a poo poo Saints team that was decimated with injuries
Was nice getting to see him play
