We almost certainly wont have an answer on Allar by then or even Howard but he seems even more of a long shot but I just dont see Baker happening and not sure Id want him. I put him in Brock Purdys tier, you might be able to win with him but I’d want better if he is going to be getting franchise money.

Not no but ............. **** NO!

We need to stop playing with stop gap QB's and find out what we have at QB so we can build around it or get rid of it.

    Absolutely not.

While Mayfield would be a solid fit for this Offense, he plays with too much reckless abandon for my liking. Furthermore, finding out what the team has in either Allar or Howard is top priority. Any more roadblocks to that objective makes the drafting of Allar meaningless.

Draft a QB in the first round of 2027. Next year's QB class looks to be good. No more stop gap QBs.

Provided any of the upcoming QBs will be worth a damn to draft. Remember that the 2026 Class was supposed to be chalk full to the brim with top echelon QB talent. That turned out to be a wash.

For me, outside of Julian Sayin, I don't see much to get excited about. Arch Manning is the "grand prize" but I suspect he will stay until the 2028 NFL Draft. Only other QBs worth getting hopeful over are Dante Moore, CJ Carr or even Avery Johnson from Kansas State provided he can bulk up a bit.

We have two QB's with huge upside, albeit very different, to lose them without checking under the hood would be pure incompetance!

I agree.... but I don't think Howard and Allar are going to get much action, if Rodgers stays healthy. Plus Rudolph will likely be the #2. Both young QBs are gonna be buried on the depth chart. There's simply not enough draft capital invested in them. A 3rd and 6th round QB are expendable.

Trade Mason to the first team to suffer an injury at QB. It's foolish to let those two sit while we dawdle with stop gaps.

I'd rather try to rebuild and find a good young QB.

I agree... but that's just not how Steelers operate. If they were on the Commanders for example, pre-Daniels.... both of them would be getting 1st team reps.

I don't said it would be a good idea or not to sign Mayfield but this is not impossible....In the last 5 years,we see rumors on Wilson,Fields and Rodgers to come to Pittsburgh and that all happens at some point.

Because we all know 1st round QBs always pay out. :)

I would have preferred Mayfield over Mitch Trubisky, Russel Wilson, Justin Fields and over Rodgers (this late in his career). But at some point, we need to find our own franchise QB. Not sure I want to go there now with Mayfield, especially if he's going to want $30M+/year.

I want to see how far along Allar is first.

Then I want to see where we draft before looking at any free-agent QBs.Baker for a cheap amount? He’s going to get franchise-tag money as a 2027 free agent, and he’s the say best 14-20 QB. I’d only consider him if Allar flops, his asking price is a 30%+ or lower than the franchise amount and we draft higher than pick #20.

Mayfield would be the best QB the Steelers have had since pre elbow injury Ben. I like the idea of him coming here next season.

I think we have too much talent to go into a true rebuild?

Eagles (4-11 in 2020) and Rams (5-12 in 2022)......... both teams won Super Bowls and Rams lost NFC Championship in last minutes back in January.
