And while I think that was pretty terrible, I think Ben's issue was perceived to be worse because (1) I think SA is percieved to be worse than A, and (2) Ben was with a college co-ed and Rice was with his wife / girlfriend.

The opposite side of that coin is that Rice's was on video. Which made the outcry pretty loud. I think if there was no video, then it wouldn't have been much of a story. Just like people probably don't really remember the Greg Hardy thing (I wouldn't have remembered his name...just that a player through his girlfriend on a couch covered with guns). Or how people outside of Pittsburgh probably don't really think about Greg Lloyd allegedly putting a gun in his son's mouth. Or Harrison allegedly assaulting his girlfriend...because she wouldn't have their son baptized?

Seems like someone is salty and doesn't understand the era in which Ben played. Im sure he is fine with Joe Thomas and Alex Mack getting voted because they were all pros for years but never led the Browns to anything.

The worst of the switch marks lacerated his kids balls, that's going to get you arrested every time. The 4 year old boys crime was pushing another boy off of an arcade motorcycle and then jumping on the game. A good swat on the butt with your hand would have been OK but switching him until you slice his balls open is way over the top.

 

I mean, I got my a$$ beat a lot growing up in the 70's but this wasn't the 70's. If you go at a 4 year old with a switch leaving cuts and welts all over his backside, including his genitals? Yeah, f**k that. He's a piece of sh!t. Classic case of not being able to control his anger and used the ole "well, I grew up this way" excuse.

 

This was rural Virginia. I was paddled for many different violations. Fighting, sprinting down the hall, talking during Study Hall, making a huge spider web of kite string on 7th, 8th grade lockers, caught chewing gum, etc.

 

LeSean McCoy isn't someone I would advocate for when discussing the credibility of players and their legitimacy into the HOF. He also said Aikman wasn't worthy. By his logic and, by his own words, there are a number of players not worthy there; he is somewhat correct there.


That said, Big Bens consistency and longevity being Top 5 among his peers for a very long period of time is more than HOF worthy.
