Maybe Watt saw Herbig get paid and if he doesn't stop being stubborn and move around, the new coaching staff will cut his snaps :hehehe:.

So you’re logic is it wasnt done in the past so why try it now? That sounds dumb.

Dont know if you noticed but the game has evolved quite a bit from what we grew up with.

And they havent tried it three years straight, Jeh already proved how little they moved Watt around.

Just football in shorts as Jeh likes to say but the secondary has been getting a lot of praise so far, no one more than Samuel.

That is good news. If the trenches can be stout and we have a secondary that doesn't get blowtorched when it matters, this could be a good defense.

Holy crap batman did you read , it has been done, it didn't work that's why they went back to what was working, that's why it wasn't done more than they did.

Do you actually think if it was working they would have stopped???

Saw an article I think on Steelers depot that was pushing trading Mason to Detriot due to Bridgewater's abrupt retirement. Apparently they missed Scheffter's tweet that the Lions signed Josh Dobbs. Really sad when they push these fantasy trades where they think Pittsburgh can recreate the Herschal Walker trade or the Ricky Williams trade. They aren't going to get magic beans for Mason.

Your commitment to dying on hills is impressive. 10 snaps is hardly trying or even a plan. If you listen to Graham it’s more than just Watt he wants to move around. You know, actual schemes which our last coaching staff seems to have been allergic to.

Commented on that earlier, there is this fantasy value people put on Mason. Dude only drew the Steelers interest when he was a FA.

It seems like everyday you hear about either Lew Nichols or Brandon Smith having a great practice. Will the Steelers want to replace 2 special team players with 2 guys that can actually produce on the offensive side of the ball?

Lew Nichols and Brandon Smith vs Travis Homer and Gunner Olszewski.

And then there is 4th round Draft pick Kaden Wetjen who according to all reports has just been a complete disaster when lining up and trying to play WR. If Wetjen does not show something amazing in the Punt/Kick return game in preseason, could the Steelers actually release their 4th round draft pick? Many here, myself included, considered Kaden Wetjen a complete REACH by Khan and company. This was made even funnier when Kaden admitted that he wasn't even watching the draft when the Steelers selected, because he didn't think he would go that early too. :)

Tough to say because its the 1st time under a new coach who may put a different emphasis on what is valued. Next season we should have a good idea what McCarthy values.

Talking about all of them is great

Saying something won’t work because it didn’t work for Tomlin is foolishness

I thought you would be happier than a razorback rolling in mud with how Samuel and Everette are playing. It seems like you like rolling in the mud with the hogs.

Man, I'm not sure I understand the massive pushback from you on this. You act as if this was all just a silly idea by stupid fans. Nevermind the fact that it was the Steelers own coaches who have dabbled in this, along with defensive coordinators all across the league moving their players around to exploit an advantage. Who gives a sh!t of they haven't done it since 1982. Who gives a sh!t of it hasn't worked to perfection the handful of times they tried it before. Would you not want your defensive coordinator to be creative and use his players in the best ways possible?

Thats what sticks out to me the most, too and can only come up with that he is very old school, doesnt like the game to change. He is very in tune with Tomlins line up and beat the man across from you mentality. Football is so much more than that now.
