I think MM has it right. Rodgers needs to play in the preseason. If he gets hurt, so be it.

From what I understand it’s more than that. This isnt just a move Watt around, is being schemed into it with everyone. So as Watt puts it, hes just buying in and making a team effort.

If Allar could be more consistent on the short passes, he would be heck of a QB . That wasn't Roman I think it was Brandon Smith who caught that pass.

The fact that the coaching staff have a good plan help too...They will be more creative now to create good situation for the pass rusher

With Howard you are hoping that his mental grasp of the game could propel him to a successful starting QB similar to Brady who wasnt endowed with great physical gifts either but Allar just oozes the physical traits and seems to be picking things up very quickly.

I think it's that Watt's ability to "bend" the edge is just much better on one side than the other.

It's not some new idea to move guys around. I think it's that he's not as good from other spots.

IIRC, Harrison said as much when they were on the team together.

That's great MT, Cowhers, and Noll all had awesome Defenses, and didn't make their OLB move around. They played their side, stunted, or dropped. I've yet to see a great D by Graham, and hope this year will be his 1st

Rod Woodson, and Troy P were both great players, but different positions, and different players, but if Steelers fans had their way they would stupidly try to make them both do the same things. LoL
Like people thinking TJ, and Garrett are the same position, and same type of players.
You can be great, and not the same players.

Anything that stresses the offense is good. The more confusion the better. Players moving around isnt new, we just didnt do it.

You don't ask Troy P to be Rod Woodson, and both were awesome, and You don't ask Watt to be Garrett. They both are great, but different, position, and different players.
There is a reason that they have tried this for 3 years straight, and ended up stop doing it. Its dumb.

Quite possible. We'll find out soon enough if it was the player or the DC.

I think this is true if he moves and it works.

If he moves around and it doesn't work, we won't know if it's because of the decline that he seems to be having. It could be that if they moved him around earlier that he'd be more successful. I thought he played the other side as a rookie...but he was pretty raw when he came out of college, so comparing his success then to his prime probably doesn't make sense.

I guess it's also true that if it works now it wouldn't necessarily mean that it would have worked in the past...but I think that would be a hard argument to support.

If they are creative with that,I am confidant it will work.If they change side and they have 0 creativity with that,I agree it will not work for sure

Cowher and Noll did not coach in the 2020s...The NFL is much different now.Need to find more favorable matchup in some of your best players

these are the best overall players graham has had and he is trying to make an offense have to adjust on the fly by doing this. he doesn't have to be noll, cowher or MT. this is mike mccarthy's vesion. so they move, so what? he has 4 really good OLB'ers and wants to get as many good defenders on the field as possible at once.

there are different periods of time and trends going on in all those coaches years. defenses have to adjust. we could probably be good running the pro set two RB's like the noll years too but we don't. times have changed. we could run the wing T too but don't. i like the innovation he is planning and yes we will see if it works.
