No it’s the opinion of 32 owners GMs and Head Coaches

    :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Stick to cutting and pasting clickbait data and other people’s thought

Don’t try thinking how to run an NFL team or pretty much anything else

For most of the preseason, the players who play the most are the players who have no future in the NFL... The coaches' goal is to be as healthy as possible to start the season, and there are other ways to be ready to start the season than playing in the preseason.

I mean, our starting offense couldn't be better in the 2023 preseason, but in the regular season, they were so bad, they were on track to have the worst Steelers offense since 1970, the Bradshaw's rookie season before Rudolph unexpectedly played the savior for the rest of the season.

Just the opposite with MM on board, no joint practices.

Steelers Among Few Teams Who Will Not Have Joint Practices
    Story by
    Mon, Jun 22, 2026

On Monday, the NFL announced the full list of joint practices during training camp and the preseason. The Pittsburgh Steelers — along with the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions — will not have a joint practice, however.

The Steelers hosted joint practices the past two years, against the Buffalo Bills in 2024 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2025. Both sessions were held at Acrisure Stadium.

Steelers new head coach Mike McCarthy has brought several new methods and philosophies to the organization. In addition to not having a joint practice, it appears training camp will look a lot different.

Seven Shots and Backs on Backers were two training camp staples under Mike Tomlin. Both drills are not expected to continue with McCarthy, however, according to Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Locked On Steelers.

"OTAs and minicamp, I didn't see Seven Shots once, so that's a sign that that's pretty much gone," Carter said on 93.7 The Fan.

Carter added: "If we don't get Backs on Backers, it will be missed, and a lot of people are going to be looking for something."

Tomlin was known for having arguably the most physical and grueling training camps in the league. McCarthy's training camps are high-intensity and detailed, but there's not much live-contact.

I went to training camp last year with my grandson and it was so hot we couldn't take it. Tomlin was in black sweats and black long sleeves.

Back in the 70’s not many people went. You could take a cooler and sit up in the shade of some trees. It has changed a lot.

I quit going when you had to get your ticket on your phone. I have no idea how to do it and not interested in finding out how.

Pre Season football is about as important as decaffeinated coffee for an all night study session.

Wake me up when 43 yr old AR gimps around the field.

Me and my old man used to go to Latrobe every year great memories up there. I stick to my stance though all this crap means nothing. Week 1 it begins.

My son gave me the old Dad why we have to be from Pittsburgh act tonight when the Pirates lost and basically ended there season. I said I remember telling my dad that and I’ve seen 2 Steelers SBs and 3 Penguins cups since. Man I miss being truly in the mix.
