There are few people on here that will take pieces of what is said , and then lie trying to make themselves look good, and anyone with an ounce of brain sees right through it.

This has nothing to do with anything I posted. I have never suggested tagging Pickens more than once.

You might be too young to know this but Belichick was the coach of the Browns up until he went to NE and drafted Tom Brady. Or maybe you didn't start watching football until last year?

Or maybe it's just all to complicated for you?

By the way, nobody succeeds as coach of the Browns.

I agree with you on most topics... but not Pickens or Najee Harris. Yes, both were good players for Steelers, but not worth the 2nd contract for different reasons.

That is a flaw in coaching and leadership when you can't make it work with an All-Pro talent. That is how you end up going a decade without winning a playoff game. No, Pickens wouldn't have put up the same numbers In Pittsburgh last year that he did in Dallas, but the change in teams doesn't make up the entire difference. What the Steelers should have done was keep Pickens and get a viable No. 2. This notion that Smith couldn't run an offense that made proper use of two wide receivers is nonsense. He did it in Tennessee. The agenda pushing this discussion is the folks on this board whose judgment is clouded by their dislike for Pickens and need to defend the Steelers' poor decisions. All those years of rooting for Roethlisberger got me to see past the crappy person to root for what made the team better.

I never argued for a second contract for Harris. Not once. I argued that they should have exercised the fifth-year option, then let him walk.

I never argued for a second contract for Pickens, either. I argued for keeping him for his fourth season, then perhaps tag him depending on what he did in 2025. Instead, the Steelers lost their second-round pick for the privilege of overpaying Metcalf, who is also a head case.

Yep, the undisciplined Steelers were the last team where a head case should be. And we didn't have a QB, HC, or an OC to be able to use his talent. So we got some of his talent and all of his BS.

I see that the elderly fanboy is so upset by me exposing his hypocrisy that he is not only making up stories about my career, but he is also attacking an entire profession, one that is a bedrock of any functioning society. All because he can't admit that he is pushing for the Steelers to hold the line financially for some players, saying that it isn't Monopoly money, while also insisting the Steelers aren't hurt by overpaying other players.

Im probably older than you, but not sure, I watched his years in Brown, I watched him take a Browns team to the playoffs, and get beat by us, he didn't coach 10 years for the Browns so stop.

I have to say you are telling the truth on this, I also wanted the 5th for Najee, but not Pickens. Harris wasn't a cancer, Pickens was, and that's the real reason the Cowboys signed him to a one year deal

Belichick has always been a great coach, either as DC or as head coach. The biggest problem in the last few years with the Pats,he was a poor GM especially on draft night. On offense, they had no talent but at least they could still play defense

Keeping him the #1 and finding a viable 2nd receiver may have kept him happy but baring a trade, the best FA available was Calvin Ridely, wasnt a good FA class. Once they brought DK in it wasnt going to work with Pickens and he even knew that. His own words he said the offense wasn’t suitable for him and praised the Steelers for moving him.

The difference between Ben and Pickens is that Bens problems were off the field. Pickens was a weekly distraction and after AB Tomlin probably didnt have the stomach for it anymore. It’s not a nothing burger you think it is, being late to meetings, late on game day, babysitting him on the sideline, taking plays off, quitting on plays, it takes its toll. Other players are thinking why am I following the rules when this guy gets away with behaving like this.

And it’s almost certain Rodgers would have stopped looking his way. I dont think the mistake was trading him, the mistake was trading him with no plan to replace him. Khan did that two years in a row.

Jerry Jones has an issue with his agent, so it is a mistake to put that entirely on Pickens.

Actually, there was no reason it couldn't have worked with Metcalf and Pickens. If anything, Metcalf's work ethic might have been a good thing for Pickens to see. Who did PIckens have to emulate before that? Diontae Johnson? I know you used to love him, but I think we can both agree that he wasn't much of a role model for a young receiver.

There were far better options than Ridley available at the start of that offseason. Again, this was poor planning by Khan and Tomlin.

No, it is not at all certain that Rodgers would have stopped looking at his best receiver. If anything, I think Rodgers would have helped get him in line, by his leadership and by giving him the quality of quarterback play he had lacked during his time as a Steeler.

The reason I bring up Roethlisberger isn't that their issues were the same. It is that I realized that Roethlisberger was a bad guy, but didn't let that get in the way of my evaluation of him as a player. I think many folks here fail to do that with Pickens, allowing their opinions to be heavily influenced by their dislike for the guy.

I agree that Tomlin didn't have the stomach for difficult players any longer. I've been saying that was a problem for years. They kept weakening the team, which has been holding them back. Getting rid of Pickens clearly weakened the team last year.

My question for one in particular is making lies out of what many posters post or does he truly have a reading comprehension issue

On one post somewhere he falsely attributed me to saying 3-4 things when in reality I said the opposite or quoted someone

Is that lying or a deeper mental challenge issue he has

No wonder no one likes him (not my words, just quoting a notable figure)

Best to let him alone I suspect

Belichick is a better coach than Tomlin. Belichick developed the GOAT. Tomlin didn't develop squat.

    6 > 1

    Enough said.

Dont have a dog in this fight but there was a a 30 for 30 documentary on Belichicks time in Cleveland, think it was 30 for 30 but whatever it was, it was really good and I fully believe had the Browns not snuck out of town in the middle of the night he would have had that team contending. The guy was a freak, the amount of detail and preparation he put into coaching was insane. He and the coaches would spend like an hour breaking down and dissecting just one play, one play.

Have no idea if he would have ever won anything with them but he had them on the right path.
