This team seriously lacks depth in several spots... Thought I'd start a thread to discuss any other team's cuts that we might take a look at.

The most likely I see right now is TE Leonard Pope was cut by Chicago. I guess that would depend on how David Johnson has looked since coming back though.

a veteran left tackle would be ideal , like when the rats took mckinnie

    Names I find interesting:

    Cordian Hagans - ex-Steeler DE
Bruce Campbell - injured but young OT
Steven Peterman - 9 year vet OG with starting experience
Brandyn Dombrowski - young OT with about 15 starts for the Chargers.

Isn't going to happen. On his worst day Johnson is still a better blocking TE than Pope. I would be very surprised if the Steelers claim anyone in this round of cuts. The majority of them were nothing more than camp bodies to begin with and had no real shot at making an NFL roster. If they're going to make a move for an OL it will be after the next round.

What about Da'Rick Rogers? The guy is an idiot with character concerns, but it's not like we'd have anything invested in him. We could cut him just as quick as we brought him in. Sure, he looked like crap in Buffalo, but they lost both their QB's, so it's hard to put much stock into how their receivers looked with garbage QB's throwing the ball. The scouting report on him is he has a ton of talent, I think he would be worth a look. It's not like we couldn't use a talented WR on this team, especially with the possibility of losing Sanders

No thanks, we have enough receivers on this team.

The chargers cut two veteran left tackles, both started in games during their career, wouldn't hurt to bring them in for a look...

The San Diego Chargers' backup plan at offensive tackle will not include veterans Anthony Davis or Mario Henderson, as Michael Gelkhen of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that both linemen have been released.

I guess I'll put this here. Just read it in rotoworld. Its not a cut. It'd be a trade...
    http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8259/brandon-bostick

ESPN's Ed Werder reports Packers TE Brandon Bostick is drawing trade attention.
Werder reports the Packers view tight end as a position of strength, and are open to making a move. A second-year undrafted free agent, Bostick is a former college basketball player who has drawn raves for his athleticism. He has three catches for 29 yards this preseason. With Jermichael Finley, Andrew Quarless and D.J. Williams also in the fold, the Pack could easily afford to move Bostick. Aug 26 - 1:04 PM

I really wouldn't want to give up anything, considering we'll have Heath back in a month or so.

Bruce Campbell is definitely interesting. He's like the most athletic tackle in the league, which would be nice for our new scheme. I did see that he was waived because of injury though, and I don't know what the injury was.

I don't think he's been cut, but one guy I would look at if he does get cut is Matt Stankiewitch C/G of the Patriots. I wathced him play a bit in the Eagles game and he doesn't look soo bab. Plus, who wouldn't love a jersey with Stankiewitch on it?

Campbell is out of the year for sure. The only reason I mentioned him was at the age of 25, he could be the kind of guy you put on the roster, get right and then provides good depth for you next year.

Not sure who those guys are but I do recall a bunch of scrubs on San Diego last year making our defense look pretty sad in that game. I remember how they were signing guys off the street and we made them look like all-pros.

Campbell with no arm is still better than Whimper.

Reid Fragel is a guy I really like ...he was showing so well early in Cinnci camp there was rumors he might not only win a hat...but may start..then he got injured and is just getting back to playing speed...maybe to little to late...I think he has CINNCI PS all over him...and I would snag him....former TE...moves well....Beachum and Fragel would be good 6 and 7 on game days.

    Guys on the street
    Jammal Brown (RT/LT)
    Jared Gaither (LT)
    Winston Justice (RT)
    Sean Locklear (RT/LT)
    Wayne Hunter (LT)
    Travelle Wharton (RT)
    Geoff Hangartner (C)
    Deuce Lutui (4-game suspension)
    Leonard Davis
    Derrick Dockery
    Rex Hadnot (C)
    Eugene Amano

Unless its a money issue...no reason a couple of these guys are not knocking a couple of of guys to the curb
