The last official comment from Omar which is still vague was:

"Broderick's starting to do more and more," Khan said from the NFL Annual League Meeting in Phoenix. "I talked to him a couple times over the last couple weeks. He's in a good place and ready to work hard and do whatever he can to be ready to go."

    From Jones June 16:

“Recovery is good. I feel fine, just getting back to it,” Jones said.

In regard to his timeline of being 100 percent, Jones said he’s unsure.

“I really don’t have a timeline. They never gave me a timeline,” he said. “They’re just monitoring it day by day. We’ll go from there.”

Anything else is speculation and clickbait

Here's an article from June 18, so probably the same availability as the June 16 one you mention above...has the same Jones quote anyway.

    From Campen (OL Coach)
"And just hoping that he needs to get healthy, and he’s doing what he can now, and he does participate with all the doctor rules and those things. So we’re just excited to get him back, and when he’s ready, then that’s another piece of the puzzle I’d say. That’s a good football player."

Like most of this stuff...sounds like mostly cliches.

But he did participate in individual drills at OTAs I think...but not team stuff?

Probably PUP to start. I think if you start on PUP and never do a practice, you go on a different kind of IR.

I tend to agree with this, but only if Max pushes him. I hope that Cook doesn't regress immensely, but I also don't expect elite numbers to continue either. If he plays well enough to hold off the rookie, his time at LT might get him paid. Dan Moore performed poorly on the field after his rookie season (which was deemed pretty good) and still got paid because he was LT capable and set to be the starter for his new team. He might end up getting a shot to start somewhere, even if Max pushes him off the field this season. I think both can be true

I do hope Cook is given a legitimate chance to be a starter. I don't give a hairy crap whether his draft pedigree is low, if he is the best man for the job, he ought to have it. That's not the way this team has operated in it's recent history, but fingers crossed that it will be under McCarthy.

Or whomever cost the most until they can do it.

I'll just leave this here for some that don't know, but about 16% of the players every year don't play the same exact positions that they played in college. Its not any one particular coach that does that.

Most of this is true, but that he was an UDFA doesn't mean much.

Yeah, I would have said PUP list, but I didn't know if there was a pup list for the regular season.

What I have seen are reports on Jones saying he has lost a lot of muscle because he has not been allowed to lift weights, and will need at least half the season to get back into football shape once he gets cleared to start lifting again.

Interesting...I hadn't heard about the muscle / strength loss part, but that makes sense.

My understanding is that if he's pup/ir throughout training camp and the entire season then his contract "tolls" and he's still on the team next year. Same thing happened to Shazier IIRC.
