To save money Rooney will have the guys on the practice squad cut the grass before each game.

I find this interesting because traditional Bermuda grass is a warm season variety which turns brown and goes dormant in Pennsylvania. This is a specific new variety. A cut and paste:

Tahoma 31 bermudagrass was developed by the turfgrass experts at Oklahoma State University. Tahoma 31 derives its name from the Native American, Tahoma, which means frozen water. In test after test, Tahoma 31 shows its exceptional winter hardiness, tested up to 75% more cold tolerant than other bermudagrass varieties.

With the additional characteristics of improved wear tolerance, early spring green-up, shade tolerance and drought resistance, Tahoma 31 is ideal for sports turf, golf courses and high-quality lawns in the tradttional warm-season climates, the Transition Zone and beyond.

That was a popular bumper sticker back in the 70's. Now it would be considered a shocking display of "toxic masculinity".

I used to hitchhike and pick up hitchhikers never had a bad experience but did have a few add ones.

I had a rich guy pick me up driving me across I 80 who stopped and bought my dinner just because he wanted some company then continued to drive me for another couple of hours until I go to my next road.

One other time a guy that reminded of Danny Devitto with a funny laugh said he was on his way to the hospital for admission and I found later that night the hospital was a sanitarium but he was nice.

I picked up a guy who asked why I wasn’t afraid of picking up hitchhikers and what if one of them pulled a knife on me. I told him I was doing 80 mph if someone pulled a knife on me they would die with me. He politely said the next road was his stop.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a hitchhiker.

I've never hitchhiked, but I did pick up hitchhickers. Only time I got nervous was I came across a broken down car with a woman looking under the hood, and I asked if she needed a ride, and she said yes. As she got in two guys came out of the trees, and said they were with her, and I asked her if they were, and she said yes. I told them to get in the back of the truck bed, and made her get in front, or no ride, the whole time holding my 45 in my hand by the door. It amounted to nothing, but I told her that's was a lousy way to trick people, and it could see someone hurt. I dropped them at a garage. I never see hitchhiking people out anymore in years

Does it matter what the quality grade of turf is being installed ... if we are still sharing the field with the Pitt panthers??!
