We thought Tomlin did a great job of finding a way to win every year with a below average roster. George Washington was the greatest field general of all time taking a collection of farmers and shop keepers and kicking the ass of the most powerful empire in the world.

And to think, we could be celebrating the 250th Birthday of The United States of Vespucci had a certain cartographer not placed the feminine Latin version of Amerigo on a certain world map back in the 15th century or so. Apparently Columbus thought he made it to the eastern shores of Asia/India and never knew it was a different continent all together, but Amerigo Vespucci, also an explorer, believed it was a "New World". But you all knew this already. Great day nonetheless to be a proud American. Just a few changes since 1776. Next 250 should be a hoot. Will any Pittsbugh teams win a Championship by then? Stay tuned. :drinks:

There is a statue of George in London but they shipped the dirt in that it stands on from Virginia

King George III himself, whose land forces Washington spent seven years evading and killing, came to admire and respect the American leader.

Happy 250th USA. I lived during the Bicentennial and now, this.

Stay cool. It's 101 Degrees (F) and heat index here is 118. I'm too old to be outside.

    Costco beef
And cheese dogs made by a local butcher

Funny I’m not a big fan of Nathan’s and I think HN are greasy and salty

I actually like cheap stadium dogs

200th way better for me. Young man in Germany. They did a little celebration thing for our ship. I found it odd that 30 years earlier our grandfathers were killing their grandfathers and here they were helping us celebrate.

    Humans a strange breed.

    Did you know…….

Denmark hosts the largest Fourth of July celebration outside of the United States. Known as the Rebild Festival (or Rebildfesten), this annual event in Rebild National Park has been held since 1912 to celebrate American independence and the historic ties between Danish-Americans and their ancestral home.
The festival features a unique blend of cultures, combining traditional American music, hot dogs, and flags with Danish beer, aquavit, and speeches. You can find more event details and visitor information on the RebildPorten tourism site.

This year for obvious reasons representatives from the US were not invited.

Years ago 3 firefighter friends and an ems set everything up safely with the stash box far away from where they were lighting. Safety first by the trained professionals! EMS was in charge of inventory fire fighters were in charge of ignition and fire control. What could go wrong? Early on one stray Roman candle ball went the wrong direction and the last words you heard was the ems saying “oh $hit”.
