I like both players but their production does not warrant the cost for the position.
Granted this could be coaching philosophy, we shall see how the TE is used under MMcarthy.

Was reading a writeup by SIS who came up with an injury prediction model. Lo and behold Muth showed up in the top 10 expected missed games in the next two seasons. I think he's had a couple of concussions to date. Best keep Washington healthy by limiting his blocking duties.

It’s still hard to put slim trim and 264 together in the same sentence

Ron Wolf; former GM of the Green Bay Packers actually said this. Bill Parcells had a very rigid set of criteria about QBs.

I don't think that is the plan.

Ideally, I would imagine that McCarthy wants Darnell to be playing anywhere between 280-295. That would be proficient enough. Keep in mind that Darnell was one of the best blocking Tight Ends in the NFL as a Rookie at 265lbs coming out of Georgia. Unless there is some major tissue injury that occurred along with him breaking his arm, I don't think there is much to worry about there.

That's on the playcaller Muth has already proved he can be a 60 catch guy, Washington's new contract doesn't start until next season. Besides it's not like the Steelers are paying a franchise QB this is the time to lock up your young talent.
