Not long enough my raised beds are 8’

But the beers in the fridge start out evenly spaced

LoL. Ah the life of some good ole OCD.
I used to have a state inspector glance at my work when I was a welder/fitter, and I overheard a out of state inspector ask why he didn't spend more time looking over my work, and he told him that I would have already checked, rechecked, checked, and rechecked a few times already, and would probably do it again 2 more times, and I saw him mouth.....OCD. LoL

Many years ago I started doing commercial construction engineering and estimating

Because I was new and inexperienced my boss naturally double checked everything I did

One day he looked at me and said “You make me nervous” “Your work is so neat and precise I just assume it is accurate”

I will never, never, ever, freaking complain about the cost of tickets to see the Steelers play.

Going to Houston over the 4th and just bought 2 tickets at NRG Stadium for $3,250 to see the World Cup. I am up there on the 5th level, it is not the top 6th level, but middle of the field at least. Anything lower is over $4,000 for 2 tickets.

My Dad was my Soccer coach when I was in school, so this has always been on his Bucket List.

The thing is that more teams seem to treat the first month of 'real' football as preseason even though they don't call it that. We talk about slow starts but maybe that's because coaches are still trying to figure out who's who and what's what.
OL in particular need multiple games to get on the same page.

This is just a matter of time...It will happen in 2031 or 2032 in the next CBA

    Did you go with dad?

I think my two Steelers club tickets are about twice that but that is for 8 games plus preseason

I’m slowly finishing my basement which is about 1600 sf emphasis on slowly

I decided to prioritizing so I started with the wine cellar and it turned out great

After that for some reason slowly got even slower

    That sounds awesome!

I built a sauna in my basement during covid and it was a really fun project. Had my girls help too. My youngest was ~5 and she'll still be like "Daddy, I remember screwing in that piece".

It's sweet...although after I retire, I'd like to move somewhere a little more remote, buy more land, and build an outdoor wood-fired one.

It's a smaller job than a whole (large) basement. But I also went slow and steady (with periodic calls to a buddy of mine who'd parents came from Finland). Pretty much I'd work on parts that I knew how to do / enjoyed. Then get to something I don't like doing (e.g. tiling) and said...well, maybe I'll just take a few days off here.

I retired in a place a little more remote with some land and it’s my piece of heaven

    Never give up that goal

If it furs your budget maybe start looking for the land now I had my land for a long time before I built the house but I had the piece of land I wanted

Plus relatively speaking rural land is not expensive

Yikes! I read the first line wrong. I read place for piece.

Do it before you get to old if it's possible for you cause these damn bodies of ours don't like construction as we age.
