What’s every NFL team’s best and worst uniform in franchise history? - The Athletic

Guess I'm in the minority. I actually like the bumblebee.

    Best: ‘Throwback’ home jerseys (2018-present)
The Steelers’ normal home jerseys are good (black with italicized white numbers). But their “throwbacks” are even better. Inspired by the 1979 jerseys, they feature block letters for the numbers. If you’re not a Steelers fan, you might not even notice the difference. But Pittsburghers love them to the point that there’s been a social media push to bring them back full time.

Bad, but not the worst: Bumblebees (2012-2016)
Who could forget? The black and gold striped jerseys, which were inspired by the 1934 uniforms, will go down as one of the weirdest jerseys of all time.

    Worst: 1933 throwbacks (2025)
The concept comes from the 1933 jerseys and Pittsburgh’s city crest. The vertical black and yellow stripes look like a soccer jersey, and why are the numbers in the front white and the numbers in the back black? Especially with the yellow helmet, it’s an odd look. — Mike DeFabo

I like the retro seal of Pittsburgh jerseys they did last season more than the original ones they had in 94 for the NFL's 75th. The originals looked like Walmart knockoff jerseys with heat applied graphics.

Got to say I like the 79 throwback home jersey with the big block numbers and clean look. Not a fN of the bumblebee but with time they get better

Favorite: Yellow Helmets, Black Jersey and White Pants.... 00's alternate jersey when we were an elite, badass team
Least Favorite: The alternate jerseys worn last season vs Packers on SNF

Honorable mention: 70's traditional, block numbers

Block numbers of the 70’s best

    I don’t like bumblebee

    Color rush ugly worst

City logo throwback made them look like prisoners

But I’m old set in my ways and don’t like change

There is nothing wrong with rabbit ears and aluminum foil

    :roflmao:

You sound like my Boomer dad with his old school cable boxes and high-as-hell cable TV bills. He could cut his monthly bill in half by using the Spectrum app, but refuses.

Streaming technology, Roku, etc... is the best thing since sliced bread and far superior to cable and satellite TV. Definitely better than using antennas for broadcast TV on old cathode ray tube TV.

BTW- I stayed at an ARBnb about 10 years ago with a big, old floor style CRT TV.... that was popular in 70's and 80's. It was pretty cool, nostalgiac. It had HBO and basic cable available to view.

I took the most crap from friends over the Bumblebee and I agreed.
That would be me. I still have cable and I have streaming channels. My problem is you can't jump back and forth with the streaming as easy as cable. I can go back and forth for sports when one has ads on. Takes like 5 seconds. Can't do that with streaming. I can have HBO, Showtime, MGM, etc. all lined up at bottom of TV and jump back and forth in a few seconds. And yes I do pay an arm and a leg.

I took the most crap from friends when the Steelers wore the bumblebee and I agreed with it. I always hope they were not watching us when I saw what uniforms we were wearing.

As for me, black jersey's with gold pants = badass.

I love that throwback with Najee. That grey facemask needs to stay.
