Doesn't matter. Even average Centers are comically difficult to find. Pittsburgh learned that the hard way after Pouncey's retirement. Never found one from 2021 until 2024.

Within that near identical span, Baltimore had a Franchise Player at the Pivot. Realistically, Baltimore should have tagged Kyle and extended Tyler. Lamar could have been dealt with in 2027 in the same vein that Kyle could have.

When Marino retired he was the career leader in pick sixes thrown with 29. It's hard enough to beat a good team, especially a playoff one, even harder when your choker of a quarterback throws at least two interceptions.

In the regular season, he was good enough to beat the '85 Bears. However, in the post-season, he couldn't beat the '85 Patriots - at home - in Miami - and was badly outplayed by the "great" Tony Eason. No defense? He was drafted by a team that was just in the Super Bowl. Do you think David Woodley's passing got them there or was it the Killer B's defense?

Five times in his career Marino had a top 10 defense in points allowed. Three times he had a top five defense. Twice he had a defense that led the league in fewest points allowed. How'd that work out for two-turnover Danny?

In some of those playoff match-ups, Marino had the better defense, but no one remembers that and they don't blame Teflon Danny.

In 1983 at home against Seattle, Miami lost 27-20. Marino threw two interceptions in 25 passes and had a passer rating of 77.6 wasting Miami’s number one ranked defense in the NFL. Seattle’s defense was ranked 24th out of 28 in the NFL in points given up.

In 1990, in a playoff game at Buffalo, Marino would again throw two interceptions and had a passer rating of 72.1. The Dolphins that year had the fourth best scoring defense in the NFL. The Bills had the sixth best scoring defense in the NFL.

The 1995 season ended with a playoff loss at Buffalo where Marino would throw three interceptions and had a passer rating of just 63.4. Miami had the 10th best scoring defense in the NFL. Buffalo had the 12th best scoring defense in the NFL. So much for the myth Marino didn’t have a better defense than Miami’s playoff opponent.

But you'll still make some excuse for Danny.

So what excuse do you have for him not winning at Pitt with a future NFL team of stars around him???? This you won't answer as no one does because it blows their fake excuse that he didn't have a good team around him, he didn't have a good defense or he didn't have a running game. He had it all at Pitt and choked big time against Florida State in 1980 and Penn State in 1981 costing Pitt two national championships.

It’s a repeated fact that Marino did not play well in big games. Stats don’t lie. Marino never won a title at any level, even in high school where quarterbacks dominate play. His Central Catholic team lost to Penn Hills in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Conference (WPIAL) championship game in 1978. In the WPIAL final, Marino completed only six of 18 passes and was intercepted THREE times.

Choking is in his DNA. ZERO rings.

Marino's college coach claimed that the drug use rumor was started by angry bettors when Marino failed to meet the betting lines in his final season. That is the seedy side of gambling that no one seems to want to talk about.

Marino must have stole this dudes gf or something. He has a bunch of this stuff saved and when anyone mentions Marino he pops up like beetlejuice and pastes this stuff into the chat.

Marino was a first ballot HOF that is included in best ever QB discussions and that is in spite of never winning a SB. He’s among the best to ever play and no amount of copy and pasting will ever change that.
