The rams did not make the playoffs in the previous 12 years before the McVay era too!

But yet... Tomlin is a shoe-in for the HOF winning big games 16+ years ago with Cowher's players, while McVay still has work to do.

IMO, Tomlin is not a HOF-caliber coach. He doesn't deserve to get in based on his post season performance after 2010.

Do people think he's a shoe in?

He probably gets in eventually (though I wouldn't put him in). But he should have to wait. Probably a decade at least.

Cowher (who has basically the same resume) had to wait 13 years (although I guess only 8 years of eligibility?). And he really only got in because of the Centennial Class (and probably because Fox was getting Johnson and CBS pays the NFL's bills too).

I think Cowher (and Tomlin) were both good coaches. But I don't think either should be in the hall.

    Vermeil either.

Here's a list of HoF coaches and when they were indicted (at least I'm pretty sure that's what they date was in the list I found). Only 5 on 1st ballot (I can't imagine anyone believes Tomlin should go in on the first year of eligibility). Bill B should have been 1st ballot (even though he was a cheater). And Reid should go on the first ballot after the success with Mahomes in KC.

Fair enough... but if you're gonna say Vermeil and Cowher don't deserve it... neither does Dungy.

Cowher and Dungy built Super Bowl teams that won after their tenures at HC... so there's a good argument for their HOF elibility. Dungy built the Bucs team that won the SB in 2002 season. Cowher built the Steelers team that won in '08 and appeared in '10. Vermeil appeared in 2 SBs ('80 Eagles, '99 Rams)... winning one.

Vermeil also built the greatest show on turf with the rams.He was the GM of that team when he was their head coach.I believe the rams would win the super bowl in 2001 if he would stay even with the spygate by the Pats.Mike Martz was dumb like crazy to not gave the ball to Marshall Faulk enough in super bowl 36:facepalm:

OMG that is rich coming from you.
So here is what You are telling me??
If it was good, or great Tomlin got too much credit, but if it was bad, or terrible it was all Tomlin.
Do You not even see the Hypocrisy in what You typed???

The only number that matters is the final scoreboard number, with a 42 year old QB and one legit WR not every game is going to be pretty .

I specifically didn't include Dungy in my previous post because I think it will lead to a discussion about football vs. societal impact. I don't think that discussion is worth having on the internet.

So if I beat someone ass in the ring every time I fight them, but they beat more other people than me they are better than me individually head to head??

McCormick is cheaper and gets called for less penalties than Dotson, in a big moment Dotson got schooled by Jalen Carter in the playoffs penalty and a whiff block .

I usually don't like popcorn. But my wife started to buy this kind and it's delicious.

Great buttery taste. And the labeling gives at least plausible deniability that it isn't terrible for me.

Most of those long time HCs of that era have similar playoff records with 10-11 wins.

They know they are wrong. You know how I know??
They aren't comparing the same amount of years like they should.
It should be McVays 1st 9 years vs Tomlins 1st 9 years.
Not McVays 1st 9 years vs Tomlins last 9 years. LoL.
What the hell sense does that make??

Or You could do like the Rams, and McVay last year, and force 4 turnovers, and still lose. LoL

If you could actually comprehend and read my post... I clearly state that McVay has already won 2 more playoff games than Tomlin in 9 years of coaching, compared to Tomlin's ENTIRE 19 years.

If that don't prove McVay is the superior coach... then I don't know what does. It's not even close. McVay has given the Rams more playoff wins in 9 years than Tomlin has with Steelers in 19 years.

You live in your own little philosophical dream-world, fantasy land.... totally devoid of reality.

How about against the Seahawks. I suggest watching more games, and listening to other people less.
