It's no different than You blaming Tomlin for anything, and everything.

    This 100%.
A sad truth in life is people tend to design their memories of the past in the way they want, and not actually how it happened.
    It's human nature.
It's like the Polamalu thing back in the day for example. The boards were alive with , too short, too injury prone, and Bustamalu , but now it's like it never was said, or happened.

Rodgers has always been a pocket QB first, even though he was athletic in his prime. And in this league if you can read quickly and get the ball on target you can do very well without the mobility. So the way I see it he is still better than most of the QBs in this league. The issue is whether he can take the hits that are inevitable at the position and survive the long NFL schedule.

Either way the key is punching that playoff ticket (which I expect to happen), and once they lock that up it's about health going into the playoffs. Particularly having Rodgers healthy. If they can do that, then I think they have a chance.

IMO the game that comes to mind right off the top of my head is the playoff loss to Tim F'n Tebow.

    Stat--------Ben------Tebow
    Yards-------289--------316
    AVG---------7.2-------15.0
    TD-------------1----------2
    INT------------1----------0
    QBR--------36.9------96.7
    Fumbles-----1----------0
    F_Lost-------0----------0
    Sacked------5----------0

Obviously, a big part of this is the defense totally ****ting the bed in OT. The stats on the QB side look different if we only look at regulation time and we take out the 1 play 80 yard drive in OT. Without that godforsaken play, it's a pretty even matchup at QB, so I guess we could argue Ben played Tebow to about a draw in this one? The pick (from our own 14) gave them 3 points.

But when the QB matchup is this lopsided, the game probably shouldn't get to OT.

Aside: On the ground we out gained them 156 (6.8 ypc) to 131 (3.9 ypc) with Isaac Redman having what I assume is his best ever game 17 carries / 121 yards / 32 long.

Unfortunately, in playoff games after the AFCC loss to the Pats it was basically always "both, and" not "either, or".

Yes he did and also said the skid marks on his undies knew more about defense than Tomlin and he should have stayed out of his business and not to listen to Steelersrule6 because he is very protective of his dad.

Agreed. I just feel like the following meme and am getting tired of people who barely remember the end of the Cowher years paint it like it was all sunshine and rainbows. Fans used to rip even Cowher for being too much of a players coach and letting veterans get away with stuff.

Its all just noise and means nothing....but I'm old enough in real and internet life where it is repeating. And people do not seem to notice that it is the new crap, same as the old crap.

Fans will always call for the coaches head, it’s what fans do but it doesnt mean the same people that called for Tomlins head were the same people calling for Cowhers. I know I wasnt, I know Heinzmustard wasnt, I know Steelersfan43 wasnt.

IMO Cowher was a much better coach. So what, opinions vary but coaches will always get blamed because the buck stops with them and it’s easier to swap coaches than an entire roster.

    Because you said so? :roflmao:

Meanwhile you have from the DC himself who has no reason to lie nor did he say it in a derogatory way but he must be lying because your delicate sensibilities cant handle the truth.

He did have a reason to lie do you know what the meaning of a scapegoat is. Put it this way Arthur Moats covered the team after he retired on SNR and said Butler was made a scapegoat, and Alan Saunders said Butler was fired they know more than you .

    You have missed the point.

The people change. The complaints are the same.

I can not prove it; but I’m almost positive one of the posters here is the same person from another message board and they used to blame Cowher or someone else for the same things they now blame Tomlin for. In two seasons it’ll be another coach.

Live long enough and this stuff just repeats.

Here’s example. When I was first able to get good enough internet access to make message boards work for me it was the mid to late 1990’s.

Cowher blitzed too much. Ran the ball too much. Game had passed him by. Was a players coach. Lost to lesser teams too often. Started seasons slow. Etc.

Then Tomlin came in. It was all sunshine and rainbows at first. Then it was Tomlin didn’t run enough. Too much throwing on third downs. Didn’t blitz enough. Needed a traditional NT. Players coach. Etc.

The lists are almost the same. 30 years of this on a loop. It’s why I get grumpy. It’s all been said before.

Welp, your definition of great is different from mine. Cowher and Tomlin were very good coaches. Noll was a great coach. Gibbs was a great coach. Walsh was a great coach.

    Saunders :lolol:

He’s a windbag and lied to Pickens face. Guys opinion isnt worth squat.

Multiple people including players have backed up Butlers claim. Ike Taylor said it was the worst kept secret.
