Ugh, not this again.

Given two options, which would you prefer always having a non-losing record, but never winning the super bowl, or occasionally having one of the worst records (two or three times a decade) and winning a super bowl?

I'd take the latter all day long. We've had the former and we became a 'non-losing' joke in the NFL. The Steelers, our Steelers, became a JOKE. Think about that.

 

This. I'd rather be the Rams or Eagles right now... than Steelers. Both of those teams had losing seasons and then won Super Bowls. I've tried to explain this to the chronically stubborn, popcorn fans around here with no luck. We know who they are.

 

You aren't giving all the options. You could suck, only win once in a while, never make the playoffs, and therefore never make the SB.
Like I said Steelers fans are like rich kids that try telling people money doesn't mean anything.

 

If all it took was a losing season the Browns would have a dozen SBs by now.
If you don't get a franchise QB in one of losing seasons it ends up worse than what you are suggesting.

 

Why does everybody use the Browns as an example to counter my argument? I'm talking about the Eagles and Rams... obviously well-ran franchises. Not the Browns.
