This is why so far nobody respects what You say about football, because this has been going on in the league for a very long time, and if You knew what you say you know, You should definitely know that.

 

It had more to do with Rodgers trusting Wilson in his route running and making the right adjustments, that's why they signed veterans like MVS and Theilen.

 

Looks like he only played 11 ST snaps last year. I agree with you that guys down in the depth chart (e.g., WR4) are going to be a lot more valuable if they contribute to teams.

Click and close, overall aggression and ball skills were not Daylens issues for me. Questionable play recognition, poor eye discipline and inconsistent man coverage technique were. Still good news though that he is impressing.


Training Camp will give us a better picture. Would love nothing more than to be proven wrong.

Is Robert Tonyan anything? The 32 year-old has spent the last 2 years on some else's practice squad. I still believe the Steelers are short 1 regular 6'5" 250-pound TE on this roster.

I do think Riley Nowakowski will be a huge improvement in the backfield compared to Connor Heyward, but I keep looking for the Steelers to bring in another regular TE to replace Jonnu Smith.

Practice Notes – Week of June 2025

Wilson was the standout wide receiver this week. He’s making a serious push for the WR3 job and is developing strong chemistry with AR. Speaking of AR — the guy moves and throws like he’s 35 years old. His arm talent and athleticism are impressive. Drew Allar led the team on his first touchdown drive of the day and made several impressive throws (unfortunately, no media film was released). Howard’s command of the offense is noticeably smoother in Year 2, but he’s not quite the athlete Allar is and his arm is pretty mediocre by comparison.

On the defensive side, rookie DB Everette has looked very good so far. Before we get into full padded practices, the quarterbacks, pass catchers, and DBs are the groups standing out the most.

I cannot wait for summer camp. Real football with blocking, tackling, and competitive reps. I’m excited to finally catch a glimpse of what McCarty has in mind for this offense. Mike had a top-9 to top-12 quarterback in Dallas and ran one of the best offenses in football. He can scheme guys open as well as any head coach in the league. Our offense — the playcalling and the way the players are being used is going to be a night-and-day difference.
