Not big on Nascar but knew of him. I looked up how did he die and I think they are not sure. Just said he had a severe illness.

Larry Fitzgerald's dad just died at 70 or so. All I can say is he must have been a great father raising such an honorable son as Larry. Fortunately he lived long enough to see Larry enshrined in the NFL HOF last summer. Larry Fitz is one of my all time favorite players at Pitt and the NFL at Pittsburgh West. But for 95's unbelievable pick 6 - Fitz and Warner would have won that SB game in a stunner.

    Edit - #92, not #95.

Sure anything could have happened to change the way the Steelers won. But let's say if 95 doesn't get the Int and AZ doesn't get a TD from inside their 10 yd line, AZ likely would have kicked a FG just before the half making it a 6 pt deficit after Holmes' late TD, assuming everything else played out the same. Don't think there would have been time to stop AZ at the end and go down and score another TD. But if the 95 INT still happened but he didn't get the TD, time would have expired with no points for either side before halftime. The Steelers would have trailed by 3 after Holmes' late TD and possibly they could have got the ball back and made a long FG at the very end to tie it and force an OT. IMHO though, Harrison's Pick 6 was critical to the outcome and absolutely necessary to pull out that W. Great game no matter what but sure glad it turned out the way it did and sort of feel sorry for Fitz, but not really.

    Edit - #92, not #95.

Butterfly effect is real. It's why I don't go for the ......well if so, and so played for so, and so team this would happen. There is always more involved than that.
We could go into if they scored there , then they may not have scored later, because they wouldn't have taken the chances they did, and so on. Either way it was a great play

Are you saying #95 flew like a butterfly but stung like a bee? LOL. And yes lots of what ifs, but that's why the proviso is added "assuming everything else played out the same way". I still think it was their most exciting SB win and that's saying a lot, considering 4 of the other 5 W's. SB against Fran T was sort of a meh, but certainly laid the groundwork for their 70's dominance. :drinks:
