The depth of the Steelers WR room hinges upon Roman Wilson

Yes. The Steelers usually keep six WR's. Roman Wilson will be the #3 or #4 man.

The #5 and #6 WRs are not better than he is. Unless he gets hurt or traded which can happen to any man, I am 95% + sure he is making this team.

Wilson separates better than the other Wr's at least for this for 10 yards. He is a quick cat and the 2nd fastest man in the group.

To this day I still think that how Papa Joe was so old school, righteous and religious man that he might of heard rumors of what was going on, but I believe that he could not believe the truth that of what was going on behind the scenes. Then it was too late. It is a shame how it all happened. I don't believe he turned a blind eye but could not understand or believe what was happening.

I don't think if he really believed what was happening that he would not have done something.

He died before he could tell the facts and the truth

    And the haters hate

If is incomprehensible that a man who loved raising young men would knowingly let bad things happen to them

    And the haters hate

But we have to take the word of people trying to get money after he died

He didn't just hear rumors. He was told what was happening. No, I don't think he believed it as happening and covered it up. I have no doubt that he was in denial. I have no doubt that he just couldn't wrap his head around the concept of Sandusky being that sort of monster. But a great man checks. A great man reports it to those who can investigate, even if it is just to clear his friend's name. A great man makes sure that children aren't being abused in facilities he controls. In that regard, Paterno failed.

I'm aware that some folks here can't handle that and will label me a hater. They will ignore that I grew up a Penn State fan, that I respected Paterno right up to the moment I found out that he was told what Sandusky was doing and did nothing. It is truly awful that he died with this on his soul, before he could fully tell his side of things, but he should have done more.

I remember when Joe was first asked about it he said there was some "horseplay" or something going on in the showers. Remember he was born in 1926 it probably never occurred to him that his long time assistant was molesting kids in the locker room. Now suspicion would be raised immediately but Joe was born and raised in a much different era.

Joe wasn’t the type to rat out Penn State. But that doesn’t make what he knew any less disturbing.

He was told it was more than that. He said he would take care of it. He took care of it by doing nothing. I absolutely understand an old man not being able to grasp what was happening, but man, greatness demands more than that. Great coach? Without question. Great man? Nope, not coming up so short when it mattered most.

I've been dismissing him and will continue. So, rest easy, I'm staying in my lane.

i think his problems can be fixed with lots of practice and hard work. And less social media…

There was a play last year involving Wilson where there was a pass that should have gone for a big gain but fell incomplete.

Rodgers took the blame for it after the game but thats when the talk about Wilson not knowing where to be started, it’s also when Wilson was jettisoned to the abyss for the rest of the season. Draw your own conclusions.

    No conclusion

Rodgers did not trust him to be where he belonged

    I've seen this movie before.

Rodgers just stops working with some WRs. If the team is stubborn enough to keep rostering the WR; Rodgers eventually works with them by default.

I have also previously said that Roman Wilson is likely a bit of a dum-dum. I will stand by that statement.

Likely have a guy that didn't really know his craft coming out of UMich and has taken some time to get up to speed mentally in the pros. I bet he plays better on gamedays than he practices. This is all the things that I've watched happen in GB before with Rodgers and WRs.

Large portions of the GB fan base and beat writers openly speculated that Devontae Adams should get cut after his first couple of years in GB. I am not saying that Wilson is in the same category as Adams....just a similar narrative.

Like many are saying...likely a make or break camp for him as a Steeler.

I agree... but Roman Wilson? He would have shown something by now. He hasn't done much with 2 good vet QBs in Wilson and Rodgers and the same OC in Arthur Smith for 2 seasons. Not a good sign.

Usually WRs show something in their first season. Remember the helmet catch by AB in 2010 playoffs vs Ravens? Remember Martavis Bryant in the 2nd half of 2014? JuJu in 2017 was a beast. Haven't seen anything resembling this from Wilson.

Edit: Forgot about Mike Wallace in 2009... he was badass against Rodgers and Packers.

Those were special athletes. The Steelers aren't asking Wilson to be special at this point. They just need him to be a competent third or fourth option.

Yeah after only one year (playing) I think I can give Roman some grace
He is similar to one of the best WR as a Steeler in their first season and damn skippy if he becomes that player Hell yes I'd take it.
    Time will tell.
