Well, and to be fair... no plan survives first contact with the enemy. Fortunately for us, the Browns' greatest enemy seems to be in their own building.

I mean, sure there's the potential of DK, Queen, Ramsey and Heyward not being on the books in 27, but it'll be offset by FA acquisitions and signing of guys like JPJ, Washington, Queen(?) and so on. So paying a position group(between 3 players) darn near 80m or more is just foolish. Perhaps Highsmith gets traded before next season, who knows. But I don't see any feasible path to paying all three in 2027.

I can’t argue with that as a possibility. They’ll have to prove that their o-line is sound, wr’s are sound and their defense is still top-notch in a year. If not, I can’t argue Manning refusing to play here - he won’t care about sitting out a year, he’s already rich and comes from a wealthy family. At that point, the Browns will have to draft Julian Sayin from Ohio State. Either way, it’s clear that they don’t care about winning now as this trade makes them worse for 2026. If Verse can play well -maybe 10 sacks compared to Myles’ 24, and top 5-10 in pressures, that will soften the blow. If I were a Steeler fan, I’d be scoping out tickets for the October 1 game in Cleveland. - They’re going to be pretty cheap.

They didnt have much choice with Monken, the other people they were pursuing kept withdrawing their names.

I hope the Rams go to the Super Bowl, and Garrett can’t play

    Why wouldn't they be?!

They have more ammo to nab a QB along with continue to rebuild. Question isn't about the rebuild. Question is if Todd Monken is the right guy?!

I agree. It won't take much improvement and Verse is a double digit sack guy. At least the Browns recognize that paying Garrett that kind of money isn't going to win them a SB. A lesson it wouldn't hurt the Steelers to learn.

They will probably move on from Davante Adams after this season, they should be able to pay Puka still.

What if the Manning family tells the Jets and Browns they don't want to play for either of those teams .

If the Rams don't win the Super Bowl this upcoming season or in 2027... man... that isn't a good look. Not too many teams though overall I can think of that can defeat the Rams head to head in the playoffs from the Conference and zero teams in the AFC. Maybe the Seahawks but that even then, that is quite a leap.

If he keeps biting people and saying bizarre stuff on podcasts; they might just move on.

    I thought the same thing.
This is the trade I wanted for Watt before 2025.

One good thing about Cleveland is that you can go ahead and pee anywhere you want.

I got a parking ticket in Cleveland around 15 years ago and on the stub that I had to send the fine it had a place for comments. I wrote "Thank you for letting me visit your city, I always wanted to know what Hiroshima looked like the day after the atomic bomb was dropped."
