Not clear because of the changes in the org. Also, based on the Pickett experience only having one young QB in development seems not an ideal way to find the next franchise QB. Spent two years, wasted some good defense, and got virtually nothing for it. As much as I hate it, I think you have to parallel QB development. If you were around then, the Steelers did the same back in the early '70s.
If things go sideways this season and the Steelers end up with a halfway decent draft pick I wouldn't be shocked if they grab yet another QB. Would that say they are not sold on either Allar or Howard? Or just that the next guy looks an even better prospect?

I just dont agree may be if we had a veteran QB who was going to be here a few more years but this is Rodgers last year so they need someone to start next season. If they are sold on one of these guys I dont see them spending a high draft pick on a "better prospect", why would they if they have their franchise guy who is young? If. They draft a better prospect next year then yes i absolutely think they are not sold on Howard or Allar as the future starter.

Than it is on your qb
    To pass someone open
    Weak argument
Qb n wrs feed off each other
So what you are saying is
Allar needs all pro wrs to be good?

If those WRs can't get open or get separation how is that the QB fault.

Yea, what exactly are those expectations? The bar can be set pretty low and he might actually exceed.

So with this same thought, does it mean they don't really like Warren??? They have taken a rb every year, and signed another rb every year since they got rid of Najee???
Did they not like Ben they drafted, and brought in many Different Qbs when Ben was on the team.
I clearly don't know what they think about Howard, but I don't put much stock into drafting another Qb while He's on the team means they don'tlike him, Howard hadn't even played a preseason game yet. Hell the new coaching staff had hardly been around him before they drafted Allar, so how would they have known he wasn't good??

No surely we didn't waste good defenses. I was told everyone knew what we were always doing, and that our Defense was never good under Tomlin. So You must be wrong.

The reason they got Rodgers is so he can teach the young guys and they have a whole season to figure out what they have

Notice How most of the Qbs, and I'm not saying Allar isn't, or can't be good, but notice how most Qbs that aren't good have this problem with Wrs.
Example: Fields is playing here, people were saying, nobody is getting open , two different Qbs come in , and those same Wrs are all of a sudden open.

    You are better than this
In this case it was at the collegiate level
    Your telling me
PSU giving away scholarships to wrs that suck that bad?
    Once again
Brady had 7 dwarfs at wr and made each one of them all pros

I’m not going to disagree that they sucked
Shame on PSU to hand out free scholarships
Allar has still earned the nickname

    TE is there
    The rbs are there
Something amiss if you had great rbs and still couldn’t pass for 100yds

Name a Wrs in the NFL that played with Taylen Green??? So should we say that Taylen Green was only a so so Qb because of his Wrs, and therefore we should have drafted him??
Again I'm not saying Allar won't be good, but many a bad Qbs can say the same thing about Wrs.

Running back is different, most of the time you play multiple guys at the position plus special teams. When it comes to Ben we didnt take higher picks or better prospects., we took depth players who were never drafted to take over. Our situation now is different, we need someone to start next season. If Howard was thought of us as the next franchise QB there is no way you spend a 3rd on a QB the very next season. If next seaon they spend a 2nd round pick or 1st round pick on a QB then they dont like Allar. If they spend a 6th round pick next season then they most likely like Allar. It isnt a matter of merely drafting the same position, its about when and where they were taken that is telling.

They had Rodgers and Howard last year too. So the next year they went out and spent a much higher pick on another QB, I think that reinforces my point on how they feel about Howard. Also Rudolph was there too.

Not sure that would make much of a difference, he wasnt going to get much in terms of reps anyhow and its a different coaching staff.

Well of course they weren’t open for Fields. They were busy setting up downfield blocks for him.
