The Browns that Belichick was head coach become the ravens after that. Not the same team who become a laughing stock since 1999.The Browns make the afc title game 3 times in 4 years against Elway and the broncos,so they were not a joke at this time

I see you sidestepped last season because you know I've got you on that one.

The 2010 Patriots weren't better when it mattered. They couldn't get past the Jets, the same team the Steelers beat on the way to playing in the Super Bowl.

Hell, the 2001 Patriots didn't just need a blocked field goal return for a touchdown or a punt return for a score after a booming kick that pinned them deep was negated by a dumbass penalty by Troy Edwards. They needed to have Brady knocked out of the game so they could get a little offense with Bledsoe.

Stop telling others to stop bitching. You're bitching about them bitching.

So only the Steelers championships matter?

The Browns have won 4 NFL Championships and 8 championships overall. If you are going to flash trophies in everyone's faces and claim that everyone needs to shut up about complaining about recent struggles, the same has to apply to the Browns.....right?

Four of the Steelers' six championships happened about 50 years ago. It was wonderful to experience those great years, but it was 50 freaking years ago. It's time to start experiencing some great new memories of championship football.

That will be determined by the 2026 season. Personally I don't care that the Eagles were better last year. Or the year before. And playing that game, the Steelers will come out on top of you go back far enough. I just want to enjoy what's ahead this season.

I cared a great deal about losing to the Browns in the aftermath of the 2020 AFC Wild Card Game personally. I don't think I have ever been more pissed off at a Football Game before or since.

It was brutal but I was even more disappointed after the loss against the Jaguars in 2017.It still haunts me

Yeah... that one was even worse. For me though, losing to the likes of Cleveland pisses me off the greatest.

In 2020, the Steelers wheels literally started coming off rapidly. It was just that losing to Cleveland was the nail in the coffin that stung the most. The 2017 loss though was unacceptable.

That was a forgettable win due to what happened earlier in the season with the losing streak and playoff elimination. It was rendered meaningless. At least in 2011 when they beat Patriots in the regular season... Steelers made the playoffs.

Belichick-era Patriots beat the bottom feeders. Popcorn-era Steelers lost to them at least once a year. Enough said.

Translation: You were talking out of your ass again and now want to move the goal posts. Any win over Brady and Belichick is a good win.

Maybe if Ben didn't choke against Denver, they make the playoffs . The Raiders seemed to play the Steelers well even when they aren't any good, your guy Cowher lost to the 2-14 Raiders in 2006 .

If one game you can blame Roethlisberger for losing, this is against the raiders in 2006 when he had 2 pick 6.....Of course Cowher make the wrong decision to play him after Ben having a concussion the week before in Atlanta.Of course 2006 was the worst year for Roethlisberger and also Cowher. His wife had a cancer,so his head was not in football, big reason why it was his last year

I don’t remember experiencing that one as a child. I remember the great wins going back a few years before that, but the first playoff loss I can vividly recall was at Denver 34-21, I think the year after that loss in Oakland. I can remember doing my paper route the day after and replaying that game in my head with all of the “what ifs.” It took me a while to get over it.

My relatives from central PA were huge Raiders fans for some odd reason. Steelers/Raiders games always ended up in interesting family gatherings :duel:

Y'all can just admit that the Steelers made you feel sad. You don't have to argue across three threads using increasingly obscure stats. It's okay to feel an emotion. You don't have to try and find a way that how you feel is logical.

Just admit that the Steelers losing takes a significant emotional toll on you and move on. Some it does. Some it doesn't. Debating the "blame" for a loss from 25 years ago or whatever because you're still emotional and refuse to realize it is tiresome.

I think some of you need football therapy not a message board. Maybe a hug?

To think people to this day claim that losing Franco and Rocky didn't make a difference. At that time, both became the 2nd rushing duo in NFL History to reach 1000 yards. That isn't normal; even by the Offensive Structure of the 1970s.

For me, if both are healthy?! Pittsburgh defeats Oakland and flattens what remained of the Purple People Eaters to notch the three peat.
