Yes. Haven't seen one on a menu for over 40 years. May be too fancy for a diner and too mundane for an upscale Euro restaurant. Forgot about finding it 20+ years ago at Disneyland's Blue Bayou Restaurant. That would have been my last one consumed. Should be plenty of them available at the Steelers game this Fall along with a glass of vintage Chateau Lafite or Pouilly Fuisse (or Fussy Pussy per Cheech Marin).

    Key Origins and History
    • French Roots: It is widely considered a decadent, Americanized adaptation of the French croque monsieur (ham and Gruyere).
    • First Appearance: While commonly linked to the 1960s, some references suggest it was served as early as the 1910s or 1920s in Paris cafes, or early 1940s in the US.
    • California Popularity: The sandwich gained fame in Southern California during the 1950s and 1960s, often appearing on menus as "French Sandwich" or "Toasted Ham Sandwich" before adopting the "Monte Cristo" title, likely referencing the novel The Count of Monte Cristo.
    • Disneyland Factor: The sandwich became an iconic dish after being featured at the Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland.
    • Key Differences: Unlike the croque monsieur, the Monte Cristo is typically dipped in egg batter and deep-fried, sometimes featuring turkey in addition to ham and Swiss cheese

They even have them here in Arkansas at certain restaurants. Hell a place I worked at back about 11 years ago had them in the vending machines. LoL

From topic: The latest show in series was called, "What a long strange trip it's been". I loved that title and magic mushrooms were involved.

    Season 4 is pretty good.

Wow, I just watched one of NetFlix's Untold stories about the Danbury Trashers Hockey team, and this was the best untold I have seen. It had more of a fun feel / good vibe than most of the other untold stories. They kept trying to bring the Federal Crime Storyline into the video, but the story is about a Mob Boss Dad that buys his 17 year old son a hockey team and the kid turns it into a real life SLAP SHOT movie. The interviews with the fans and the players really set this Docuseries apart from the other untold episodes I have watched. I loved how much the hometown fans loved their team.

I had no clue about this minor league hockey team with the story began, but it really was fun to watch.

LOL... The Equipment Manager looks like he is straight out of a Hollywood casting pool. He may be the only equipment manager to ever be suspended by the league commissioner.

I just don't know if I could ever buy Rowan Atkinson as anything other than the Slap-Stick funny Mr. Bean type character.

I've brought this show up before, but I guess I'm the only person to watch it.
    The Invaders (1967).
The episode I watched last night had Gene Hackman , John Randolph, and James Gammon in it.

    MUCH better than Marshals.

That one looks like it was written by a kid in 6th grade creative writing, acted by the middle school drama club and filmed on an iPhone. It doesn't help when your lead character somehow has less energy and charisma than a moldy, soggy, piece of week old bread. Yeah yeah yeah, he's in mourning. He sucked on Yellowstone too. His SEAL team buddy / boss is only marginally better. Belle and Andrea are OK, I guess. Miles comes off like a milquetoast. Rainwater and Moe are cool in the 45 seconds or so per episode they get. When your tertiary characters are the most interesting ones on the show, you have a problem.

The whole show feels like a bad Saturday night, 80s era A-Team knockoff but with the added spice of, "remember Yellowstone? That was awesome."

Dutton Ranch *feels* like Yellowstone. Better characters across the board. Much better writing and acting (except for maybe blondie. Wish.com Beth, and not fooling anyone that she's even close to Carter's age. At least she's easy on the eyes).

And I'll watch almost anything with Ed Harris.

I enjoyed it. But I'm not sure where they're going with it if there's another season.

    Solid first season, though.

I can never get past Rip actually being the red headed creep/a$$hat in Daze and Confused, and Pitch Black. Dyeing his hair dark for being Rip doesn't make me forget. LoL

Spider Noir with Nicholas Cage is not bad and somewhat entertaining and a perfect role for Cage. Guess it's meant to be a different interpretation of the Marvel Comic Spider Man movies. It's set in the 1930's and you have a choice of watching it in B&W (like older crime Noir dramas) or color, we chose color. It reminded me a bit of the Dick Tracy movie with Warren Beatty with obvious painted backdrops and a live stage play feel. It seemed to get better the further into the episodes. If you like Cage, you'll probably like this.
