Bill Cowher fired his OC and tried to call the plays for one game. He said it was a disaster. He said a HC has so many other things to pay attention to between plays that it’s impossible to do both.

Thats awesome that your TV has fixed cameras on Tomlin and Butler plus showing the game simultaneously, does it provide you split screen for all this or does this just happen in your flying monkey world? Photographic memory too, its been like 5 years since Butler was on the sideline but you have vivid memories of sideline shots of the coaches calling plays :lolol:

Tomlin must have been the smartest DC in the league being able to call plays without a play card. Either that, or the typical play card was three lines long. :rules:

I actually posted pics of the card Austin was holding was the size of an index card.

But to be fair, Steelersrule6 found one of him holding a full play sheet.

However, no one is claiming Tomlin was calling the defense while Austin was here. It was Butler who said Tomlin was calling the defense which he started doing towards the end of LeBeaus tenure as well.

And believe it or not, there was a time no one used play sheets to call a game.

Tomlin coached "from his gut". Probably why he stunk at challenges.

I think part of this was also that the NFL now auto-reviews all the important stuff.

So challenges that are initiated by coaches are mostly just timeouts after bad plays.

After Butler retired Arthur Moats said something about Butler being a scapegoat, it seemed he had some inside info but didn't want to go into detail about it.

Yep they are an investment at the expense of other students who end up with 10’s of thousands of dollars in student loan debts. At the same time the illiterate students rack up those expenses, they also enjoy their doubly priced door dash and Starbucks lattes while not thinking twice about paying for it. Colleges are a total ponzy scheme.
