Big deal the Steelers have had crap at QB since then and Lamar still has a losing record against them .

And I will take all of those other QBs and their mid playoff records with a Super Bowl win ;).

Ravens had better coaching personnel in place to develop LJ. I don't think LJ would be half as good as he is now, had Steelers drafted him.

Agree w you Mustard, I think LJ is a terrific talent, but the Steelers would not have developed him properly, nor would they have adjusted their offense to play to his strengths, as the Ravens did. Tomlin & Co. would've tried to pound that square peg into a round hole, and moved on when it didn't work.

    Not totaly accurate. Almost.

Aaron Rodgers holds a career playoff record of 12-11.

    Postseason Overview

    Total Games: 23
Super Bowl Championships: 1 (Super Bowl XLV)
Career Playoff Stats: 6,040 passing yards, 45 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions

That's possible, but also hard to truly know for sure. All we can go off of is the player he's become. I'm not saying you're totally wrong, just that we won't know for sure. We also have to understand that the addition of LJ would have changed our decisions at OC. We'll never know.

Where did you get your stats from? I generally use Pro Football Reference, and they have him at 11-11. He is credited for having played in a playoff game in 2007, but he recorded no stats and wasn't the starting QB. As a starter, he is credited for 11 wins and 11 losses in his career.

Yeah, me too... but what have we won since Lamar's been in the league? 3 less playoff games than Lamar has, unfortunately.

Rodgers has a SB. So has Manning, Brees, etc. Manning and Brees didn't win until they were 30, Lamar isn't that old yet. Manning won his second when he was 39 (LJ wont last that long in the league). Rodgers went 4-1 in his first 5 playoff games, despite being as great as he was he went 7-10 since then.

Look, we'd all prefer to have won a SB over a few meaningless playoff wins... but the fact that Lamar hasn't won a SB doesn't mean he isn't great. Is Dan Marino not great because he never won a SB and went 8-10 in the playoffs? No. Of course not.

Do you really think Tomlin would have went outside his comfort zone and hired an OC that could effectively develop LJ? Finctner, Canada and Smith were not those guys. Smith was a decent OC, IMO... but the latter two were comfort hires for Popcorn after the prickliness of Haley.

Take all of the starting QBs in the league today back to their draft year, with knowing their accomplishments to this point, and have one big QB draft. You have the #1 overall pick.

    Who are you drafting? Top3?

I'm taking Mahomes first. Probably Stafford next. Hurts would be my third.

I would also probably draft Allen and Burrow to round out my top 5. MVPs aside, I'm not impressed with LJ as my franchise QB.

Well Marino won 8 playoff games for his career, Lamar at 29 has won 3. If I were a betting man ( I do wager on occasion ) for his career I'd bet Lamar will not win six playoff games for his career. Do you know an Ravens fans?

I think Jacskon is approaching the decline as he is not as fast or quick with his legs as he used to be and has had his share of injuries. The extremely mobile QB's have a short self life

Burrow and draft the hell of OL to protect his fragile ass. Burrow is the best QB in the league when he's healthy. I'm talking Cowboys of the early 90's-caliber OL.

Agree. And it's not just the Steelers IMO.

I don't like Harbaugh, but I have to respect that he took that massive risk (putting his job on the line). And it paid off for him.

There are quite a few quarterbacks I would take ahead of Hurts, including Allen. Hurts has had some great moments, but playing in a great system behind dominant offensive lines with excellent skill position talent is doing a lot of the heavy lifting there.

I would rather have Jared Goff, Drake Maye, or Caleb Williams.

Why does Harbaugh get the credit for creating Lamar Jackson but Jackson takes the blame for playoff losses? Tomlin takes all the blame for playoff losses but Harbaugh is considered a better coach despite losing in the playoffs with one of the top QB's in the game.

Because Harbaugh also developed Joe Flacco.... beat Brady and Manning en route to a Super Bowl victory in 2012. Did Tomlin ever beat Brady or Manning in the playoffs? Hell no.

Ben improved as a QB under the previous coaching regime .

I don't care about Lamar winning three playoff games, last I checked the Steelers haven't had a two time MVP at QB .

Harbaugh was a freaking special teams coach and you want to give him credit for developing Flacco, but Tomlin gets no credit for Ben improving as a QB . I think the only time Tomlin faced Manning in the playoffs was 2015, he was carried by his defense and he got outplayed by Ben.

Yeah that's awesome. That equals how many SB.
I forget how many years do you win just one, or two playoff games , and that automatically puts you into the SB?? I forget remind me??
I mean surely the Bills have punched enough holes for their free go to the SB card , right???
    LoL

Wow that's a lot of SB he's been in that I seem to have forgotten.
You win enough games to make the playoffs, there is no in between, and then you win enough playoff games to make the SB, there is no in between.
