A rarity for sure, my friend said your Pirates won 7-2. I told him I'll shoot their run total. After laughing their ass off at me I had an amazing round for me and lo and behold I shot a 7 over. Use to shoot that score 20 years ago. Won't come close to that score again this golfing season.

    Thanks Bob;)

PNC will be packed Friday night. Fireworks!! So awesome over the rivers. I'm pissed a lot of Phillie fans will get to enjoy it. I was at a firework night in Philly and it was held in a parking lot outside the stadium.

Skenes will go Sunday against Wheeler. I'm worried they will sweep us.

Don't tell me, their favorite player would be Phil Mickelson (if he were playing this PGA event). :lolol:

Some sad ass sh!t:( Felt a sweep in my bones and went to bed with Bucs up 8-3 thinking I was going to be wrong but the good old bullpen came through and we lose game 1.

Now I must walk among their faithful as I'm headed to Philly to see the play, Chicago.

Use to be a fan of Phil but once that LIV crap started up I came to despise him.

What's weird is that for some reason, the MLB app showed the Pirate game last night live. I'm not a paid subscriber nor is MLB/ESPN showing freebies any more but when I opened the app to watch the simulation mode, the live broadcast was running. It was a great game.....until it wasn't.

For what it's worth, MLB has today's game free again. Sales must be down. But Bubba already melted down in 1st, 3-0 bad guys.

Not saying I told you so but I guess I am. Also predicting Wheeler will best Skenes today. Bucs will be lucky to score a run against Wheeler and unless Skenes throws a no-no we about to get swept again at home. Easy to sum it up:

    Money talks and BS walks.

And yes I'm quoting myself, just realized/saw that ALL of MLB was free to watch this weekend. And this was after a press release said no more free games now that ESPN took over MLB.com. Subscriptions must be tanking. How unfortunate for us Buc fans it was this weekend. :noose:

As my favorite piece of bacon said: Th-th-th-that's all folks. I'm done with them. They soon will settle into last place where cheap ass teams belong.

Enjoy the rest of another sh!t season.

Good news, only lost 1 game over weekend to Cubs and entire division lost today. Small consolation.

Sorry about my Cardinals beating up on the Buccos. Cardinals were supposed to finish last, but most of their young players are starting to develop.

The Pirates stopped their losing streak and beat the Cards 7-0. On another positive note, Cruz was the DH while Ozuna gathered some splinters in his butt, and Eyechart played CF. I think this is a good change for several reasons: 1) It benches a .179 hitter in Ozuna, 2) It moves Cruz all the way left on the defensive spectrum, or should I say completely OFF it, and 3) it rewards a young hungry player who is better defensively than Cruz and better offensively than Ozuna (admittedly a small sample, but Eyechart would just about HAVE to be better offensively than Ozuna).
Now is the summer of our discontent. We will soon see if Nutting is really out to win this year. Ozuna was signed to a big contract (by Pirates standards) and it is not working out. At Ozuna’s age, the wheels can fall off the bus very suddenly, and that may be what has happened. They are already out the money, and if they keep sending a .179 hitter out there they will be out the potential wins too. If they release him and eat the money we know they are serious.
You know how they say “If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it must be a duck?” Well, Cruz may be the exception to that rule. He has a cannon for an arm and great speed. He should be a great defensive center fielder, but he just isn’t. He has had enough time in center to adapt but hasn’t. He may be that rare athlete who has all the physical tools and then some, but doesn’t figure out how to use them. He may end up having the best arm and speed of any DH in baseball.
I don’t know if Eyechart will be good, and neither do the Pirates….yet. But he is an improvement in several ways over what the Pirates were trotting out there.
Overall, a good series of moves.

Good points. They're also calling Garcia "Password" for the scrambled letters in his first name. Looks like Griffin seems to be slowly improving with more ABs. Was up to .280 after his 4th hit last night and he's a speed demon on the bases - 11 SBs as of today's 4th inning game. I'm really concerned with Henry Davis who is turning out to be a great catcher in managing pitchers and throwing out runners on the bases but his hitting is down to .137! As I said earlier in this thread, sure wish they had a designated fielder spot - Davis would be a perfect match for this. You want a Jason Kendall type bat behind the plate. A Johnny Bench type would probably be asking too much. Really liking Lowe and too bad O'Hearn was injured. Great acquisitions

Well after myself and Quad took turns knocking Ozuna and Davis, they both had good days with Ozuna going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and Davis hitting a HR for a Bucs 6-2 W and took 2 of 3 from the red hot Cards on the road. They mentioned on the radio broadcast that this is the first time since the 90's or 70's that the Bucs have won their first 4 divisional road series (Redlegs, Cubbies, Brewfarts and now the Cards). So there's that - even though the Cards swept us at PNC 4-0. Stay relevant and above .500 men! Perhaps SM will re-engage? I can't help it, I have to follow no matter what. My Dad's spirit demands it.

The weird thing about Hank is that he was thought to be a slugger who would have to find a defensive position. He turned out to be completely the opposite. Good defensive catcher but no stick.
I think that catcher, because it is so physically hard on the body, is a natural position for platooning. I think Hank could stick around for a bit as Skenes’ personal catcher in a three way platoon arrangement: a righty hitter, a lefty, and Davis on days when Skenes pitches.
Bad enough that he is not hitting his weight, but he is barely hitting Livy Dunne’s weight.

    IMAGINE
    Imagine a good bullpen
    It isn’t hard to do
    Tekulve, Face, and Giusti
    Ramòn Hernandez too
    Imagine all those hitters
    Whiffing against Goose
    You hoo hoo hoo hoooooo
You may say I’m just dreaming
But I wish Chapman was back
I guess it’s just wishful thinking
‘Cause Nutting’s much to cheap for that
