Yep. I'm at my limit now. When we want to watch something on a service we don't have, some other gets dropped. Ya know household budget and all...:sigh:

    Yep.

I think people would generally rather pay a reasonable price over piracy. But I don't think people are going to sign up to 5 extra subscription services or whatever they're at now.

One thing about living in the metropolitan Pittsburgh area is you get all or almost all of the games on local TV

At first glance I'd want to say the product is becoming oversaturated; however, the data states otherwise. The average person owns these streaming devices whether football is on them or not, and ratings are going up.

Given that we have people spending time breaking down a backup QB's footwork drill, I would say fans cant seem to get enough NFL.

I never really got into NCAA football because most games seem to be super lopsided re: talent level.

I can get the game using IPTV. It's even better for me when I can watch the games on KDKA. It feels more like home to me :) Even though I am in Canada I always wanted to live in the Burgh. I could learn to love it sitting in the stadium watching my favourite team :)

There is a large generation of fans that will be disappearing from stadiums in the next 20 years or so. You have to wonder how many of the younger generations will be as avid about the game. Within my own extended family I already see disinterest with the game with those in their 20s, 30s. (Have one son that only has the games on as 'background noise' as he plays his video games.... hmm, I wonder, does the NFL count them as fans?).

You don't think that is happening in the NFL, in anyway??? Especially the schedules. How do you think we get the Ravens at the end of the season every year lately, and that's just a small example.

Only time I watch a Thursday night game since it went streaming is if the Steelers are playing. Matter of fact I watch no streaming games unless it's the Steelers.

The same for me I order Prime for a month because the Steelers have a game coming up, then I unsubscribe and don't watch TNF the rest of the season.

it’s different now. NIL has leveled the playing field. I mean Indiana just won the National title. But in the past your statement was true.

I have Prime anyways just due to me buying ****, especially puzzles from Amazon. I think Prime games would've been much more interesting if they played on Sunday or Monday and gotten better game selections.

It's going to get really interesting if the Ivy League jumps back to reclaim their spot in CFB.

I do most of my shopping on Amazon so prime pays for itself therefore the TV part is just icing

But I do sign up for 1 month freebies and binge watch one service

    Right now BritBox

Yes right now no matter what streaming service has the game on, the NFL allows the fans in the local area of the 2 teams to watch it. I live in Mercer County so my cable company considers my home team the Browns but I just switch to my antenna to watch the Steelers because I live less than 50 miles from Pittsburgh but a hundred miles from Cleveland.

Yeah, Prime is one of the ones I have. I have several but not all.

Last year there was a game on Hula maybe? Whatever it was I didnt have it. I was like oh well, not getting it just to watch this game.

Doesn’t matter. As long as the video feed is on; advertisers will pay to get ads in front of their eyeballs.

The ad revenue is what props the whole thing up.

I mean someone is paying to have ads show up here. There’s maybe a few dozen unique visitors a day.

As long as there’s millions of people with the NFL on, even in the background, someone will pay through the nose to try and sell those folks cars, unnecessary pharmaceuticals, and reverse mortgages.

I think there was one game last year I could not record and maybe it was the Hulu game but it was a home game and I went

I think it was shown elsewhere later that I could watch:shrug:

More and more NBA stars are taking regular season games off, under the guise of “calf strains” and “misc” ailments. I can see the same thing happening in the NFL with the increase in games.

The difference between the best and worst teams in the NFL is way smaller than the difference between Powerhouse U. and Podunk State in college.

I get what the OP is saying, but I think I've heard this complaint every year I've been following the NFL. Which goes back to 1986.

I do think that that the move to streaming platforms from traditional television will throw up these issues, and different sports are learning how to navigate it.

Maybe so, but I will say I doubt someone using NFL games as background noise will want to pay extra to a streaming service for it. I expect broadcast TV games will slowly fade away.

And now I read where restaurants are saying the NFL streaming model is cutting into their ability to make money. The NFL is making some enemies.

Sorry, but the majority of those guys are paid millions a year. They won't get any sympathy from me living the life I live (10 year old son level 3 autism)

They get to travel to another country and play football, boo hoo gtf over it
