Howard told Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette this week that Rodgers has been everything he'd hoped for in an NFL guru.

"He's been so awesome to me so far," said Howard, via CBS Sports. "Obviously, we've only gotten to be together for about three days, but I got a really good feeling about him, about this whole QB room. I think we already, in this past week, meshed really well, hit it off. I think we got a good vibe, good group. Aaron has been so willing to help me. He's like, 'Literally, as much or as little as you want me to help you, I'll be there.'

"He's already given me tips, little things here and there in the meeting room, on the field, in my drops, different little things. Obviously, I can't do the things that he can do mechanically, so I don't want to replicate that too much because that's pretty unique. But for the most part, everything I can learn from that guy is invaluable."

I've said this about a million times, but I believe that when Rodgers is completely healthy, and fresh like he is at the beginning of the season not many starters in the NFL could beat him out in a camp competition let alone backups, or rookies that have never played a snap in the NFL. Thing is he won't stay completely healthy, or fresh. He will be good for the Qb room. I wish there was a reasonable way to keep him on a pitch count, and still remain competitive enough to make the playoffs with him fresh.

It’s true that putting them in to early could stunt the development. I think my issue is if neither play come draft day next year the corpse of AR probably drags us to 9 wins or so and we still have no clue if either guy is actually capable of being a starter. So do we draft another QB rd 1?? This is the problem delaying a rebuild because you have a delusional owner that thinks we are in contention.

Coaches will have an idea but as we have seen pre season and practice carry little weight when it’s big boy time. See Kenneth Pickett.

Your snarky comments make it seem like I don’t want the Steelers to actually do well and become a legit contender again. I’d say my moaning and pessimism is a lot more warranted then your rainbow and butterflies horse ****. See the last ten years…..

The team really does seems to love him, they have great camaraderie together.

It was reported that during player exit interviews, the common theme was the players wanted them to bring Rodgers back.

They have some continuity under center for the first time in years. That counts for something.

It amazes me when you don’t 100% agree with a whiner that their immediate response is that someone is rainbows and butterflies

Several whiners have made the same response

What is so hard with being honest and honorable

What is so hard with acknowledging the bad with the good

You’d forfeit a younger QB who could possibly be developed into more than just a BU for that. Rudolph is 30, hes not some amazing QB they cant live without.

Go with the younger guy with more upside.

Depends on the cost of that luxury

If it requires getting rid of a young guy with potential that’s not a good move

That was the Tomlin way of doing it

    MM I’m not so sure

I wonder how it works out with the 4 QBs. You can’t keep 4 and you risk putting Howard on the PS?

IDK about Howard on the PS

    Someone could claim him

But would a team grab a 6th round player off of the PS and have to put him on their 53 if they have never played a snap in the NFL

He could also select to go to another teams PS but I think he would be in a better position here

What a colossal waste of time and energy.

POTENTIALLY (I know. I know. It’s gonna change) the best and deepest QB class in a long time, but let’s position the franchise to sit that out because they’re “excited to see what they have in the young guys already in the building”.

All so Rodgers can throw 300 dump offs to the RBs in less than 2 seconds.

I’m gonna go out to the garage and smash my head with a hammer until this all sounds like not a slow moving arthritic disaster.

Yea I don’t think he would elect to go somewhere else really wouldn’t make sense. Rudolph cut is the easy answer but Art might not want a backup with no experience. Is there a way they could actually keep 4 on active??

If he is not NFL caliber after a few games he never should have been drafted.

    They could keep 12

    You just can’t exceed 53
