I do like Allar but he still has to prove it.

My argument is pretty straight forward, there is better talent at the top of the draft. It’s really not debatable but STD cant bring himself to admit that very simple basic fact.

I am focusing on ours, that why I don't want to start heading down this losing crap. The Jet were just in the AFC Championship in 2010, and 2011, do you think they thought that what is going on right now would be, do you think they thought they would go backwards that far?? Start down the losers path, and it can happen

It is different, because Broncos lost Nix on the last play of the divisional round game before the AFC Championship. Broncos had a good enough defense to overcome the Patriots and failed, because their rookie backup QB choked away a score. Matt Moore played 3 games prior to Steelers playoff game winning 2 out of 3.

Well, yeah... Popcorn deserves most of the blame for Steelers longest playoff win drought since the 1960's.

See, you cant admit it and you call me stubborn :lolol:

I guess by your logic you should just stop grading players because clearly you believe they are all the same.

What?? I never said that, and You know it. I said that it's not where You are picked ,but who is picked. Many many many many times the wrong people are picked early. Hell Watt is a common example of this: He was the 8th pass rusher taken in the draft.
    What about Bell.
What about AB., and that's just on this team.
Brady, Brees, Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Flacco, Dak Prescott, Joe Montana are none of those Qbs good. I think You should go look at all the HOF players that weren't picked in the top 10 of the draft. Hell not even in the 1st round.

No, but in the last 10 years it's pretty rare that a QB drafted out of the Top 10 overall amounts to anything significant. The Chiefs had to trade up with the Bills in order to draft Mahomes at #10 in 2017. Percentage wise, there's no denying that you have a much greater chance of landing a franchise or elite level QB that's drafted top 10 in the draft. I'm not saying that the Steelers can't possibly hit on either Howard or Allar, but the odds are against it.

Quite a bit of fighting talk about how Pittsburgh hasn't found their Signal Caller. Need I remind people that Mike McCarthy wanted Drew Allar above all else. For those of you who have read my statements about what I thought between Beck vs. Allar, I stated that Beck to me is the better of the two but only because he was the more consistent of the two. As far as taking a swing for a potential home run, Allar fits that bill. There is simply too much working in Allar's favor absent the mechanics and consistency; mainly due to his confidence being a complete mess in 2025. Mike stated his job is to find the next signal caller.

Now, has he is the question that needs to be asked. With any luck, we will not know until 2027 for Drew Allar needs a year to fully rebuild himself to return to his 2024 form. Should Pittsburgh get that and more, you truly have something special to work with. If you don't, 2027 will have other QB options waiting or Will Howard will end up proving himself in the end.

And I have agreed and said many times that you can find good players later in the draft but there is no denying that being near the top of the draft order is advantageous and better odds.

Without Tomlin would this team even been in the playoffs the last three years?
    Trubisky, Rudolph, Pickett
    Fields, Wilson
    42-year-old Rodgers

I believe he sees your argument as going a step further to imply the Steelers need to have a losing season to get their quarterback. That is the point he is arguing against.

If Allar can't be the guy, then he was a terrible draft pick. I don't mean he has to be a guarantee, but if there is no chance, then they wasted a third-round pick.

If Allar can be the guy, then he will be a great draft pick

And the trade made to acquire the pick will have been excellent

You already said Allar is the guy. You also said the trade was excellent. Did you forget you conveyed you agree with whatever the Steelers do as being perfect?

It’s ironic that you’re accusing others of whining, yet you dodge every request to explain your claims. You labeled anyone critiquing the draft as whining, but when asked to justify that, you just resorted to insults and ran from the conversation. It’s clear you’re more interested in shutting down debate than actually defending your position.

Here is the question again. How does asking people's opinion on the draft equate to whining? This is when you deflect/run away again.
