I would prefer they didn't. I'm ready to see what the new guys can do.

Rodgers is not the QB he once was. But he is far better than the remainder of that QB room.

I expect part of the plan this offseason was to add weapons to the offense to ensure he would return willingly. And the Steelers now have those weapons. Pittman is not a gamebreaker, but he adds quality outside the hash. And Bernard was an excellent addition for the slot. Wetjen adds to depth.

And then you have the RB room, which is excellent with Dowdle added to Warren, and Heidenreich as a change of pace who can flex to the wideout positions. TE remains solid.

I will be surprised if Rodgers drags his feet this year. My guess is he will be excited for this season in this offense.

Ignore Rodgers last year results. Sorry, but our awful, terrible offensive coaching was an albatross around ARs neck and only one or two QBs starting today could have overcame it and had a pro-bowl season regardless.

He's pretty old these days, so yeah, tank might only be 60 or 70% full, but with a REAL offense (distinct possibility with Coaching nimrods gone) he'd be an above-average QB, maybe not top 5 or top 8, but definitely top 12.
That would allow Allar and Howard to come along with lots of reps over the next few months and if AR gets hobbled, hopefully one will be more than ready to fill in come say October or November.

LoL. I can't help but laugh every time someone brings up McVey developing Stafford. LoL a Qb that has been a starter in the NFL for 12 years .

How many Super Bowl wins or much less.... playoff wins did Stafford obtain while in Detroit? Yes... he was developed by McVey whether you want to admit it or not.

I would also put Darnold in this category with Kubiak/MacDonald. Darnold had much better coaching in Seattle and Minnesota than he did in New York. Obviously.

LoL. See how You , and your cronies like to move the goal post. You guy change with the win, and the sad thing is you don't even notice it. LoL.
You aren't developing a Qb that has been a starter in the league for 12 years. LoL You are putting him on a better team. I can't believe you actually even said this.

Seahawks and Vikings put Darnold in a position to win. Jets and Panthers failed to do this. Likewise with Stafford and Rams. Lions failed Stafford...not the other way around.

You know I'm right. You keep losing debates with me.

Man, Rodgers legs were absolutely shot last year, and you can tell he doesn’t want to get hit anymore.

Still, if he hasn’t dropped off a whole lot from last year, he could still get us to the playoffs.

I think what I want to see this year is the young guys getting mentored, and maybe Rodgers misses a week or two and one of the kids gets some live action.

I think I would rather take that than one of the young guys bombing for an entire season and we go 1-11.

Except that you were dead wrong in what you first said. You said two things as if they were the same thing:

    1. That McVey developed Stafford. Bzzzt! Wrong, try again.
    2. Being traded to LA put Stafford in a position to succeed. Ding ding ding!

i saw rodgers run last year at times quite well. of course he doesn't want to get hit, who does? he had a broken arm which also would cause any sane human to not want hit. i hope he does for one more for the sake of howard and allar. howard went to meetings last year but never got the chance to put it into practice. he couldn't because of being on IR most of the year. they should get a chance to do that this year if rodgers comes back. it will make them both better for next years competition.

Another offseason being held captive by Aaron Rodgers.

We use to be a proper franchise.

Why didn't Mitch Trubisky and Justin Fields revitalize their careers with Steelers like Stafford did with Rams? Stafford had a 3, 4, 5 and 6 win seasons during his time in Detroit. Even with HOF Calvin Johnson... Stafford had some terrible years. Hell... Fields and Trubisky did better than that in Chicago!

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding! I win again.

He didn't, at least not in this case. Trying to cover it with Darnold doesn't change that. Yes, Darnold developed with better coaching after leaving the Jets. Don't forget his time with Shanahan as a backup in San Francisco. The difference there is Darnold was a mess by the time he left the Jets. That simply wasn't the case with Stafford in Detroit. He was an outstanding quarterback saddled by some very bad teams in Detroit. He has better talent and a better system around him with the Rams, but giving McVay credit for developing a very good 12-year veteran quarterback is comical.

    ANOTHER OFF SEASON?
    CAPTIVE?
    HOW?
You and the one that agreed with you are being silly to say the least.
You two are holding yourself captive.
