I did say that they sounded like a mix of bands, but they did have a bit of a sound of their own. Hell people love GoD smack, and they are an exact sound of if you threw Metallica, and AiC in a blender, and then poured some of the talent out into the garage, what you have left is GodSmack.

I liked the Temple of the Dog album. Not great top to bottom, but has several good to really good songs. But I think the acoustic versions of Call Me a Dog and All Night Thing (Cornell's solo acoustic album Songbook) are better than the ToD versions. But I love that Songbook album.

Speaking of "amalgamated" grunge band groups, it pisses me off because I can find the case and jacket for my Mad Season CD, but I can't find the CD anywhere.

    Artificial red
    Smoke, poison consumed

Kinda think we all should've guessed Staley wasn't gonna be with us all that long.

Not trying to convince anyone to like or dislike TotD, but it is kind of incredible that that album was Vedder's first time singing professionally and served as his audition for Pearl Jam as they attempted to pick up the pieces of Mother Love Bone after Andy Wood's death.

FWIW, I still believe Mother Love Bone would've broken big if only...

Also....always thought it was a shame Mudhoney didn't get enough love from record companies.

Pretty funny I was just plucking the intro to hunger strike on the guitar before I signed on this forum only to see mention of Temple of the Dog.

The mullet strikes once again to bring people together lol

    That's awesome.

My daughter is just (re)learning to play. Hunger Strike is one of the songs I'm teaching her.

She's only playing chords (not plucking) but it's a good song and not super hard re: chords and changes.

    Pretty fun.

She did take a class maybe 2 years ago? At the time she was pretty good at playing Free Falling and she performed Here Comes the Sun. But we're working on getting the muscle memory back for her. Especially re: chord changes. She's also working on trying to play barre chords.

During the video he mentions always giving 100% which means that he'll lose to a guy giving 110%.

Seriously though, remember last season with Broderick the story was that he came into camp in the best shape of his life and everyone was asking what took so long? I don't think that will be a question with this guy.

This is off topic from the off topic part of this thread.

But I recently downloaded Yet Another Rhythm Game (YARG) for my PC.

It's a Rock Band clone. But has all the best features from RB3 that they took out of RB4 (e.g. keyboard and pro-keyboard).

We still have a bunch of our old plastic instruments from Rockband. And I have an e-drum kit and a piano with a midi out, both of which can connect to the PC...easier if it's USB midi, but there's a guy who makes midi to USB adapters for rockband...and I still have the original one that the company that made the game put out.

But it's been a great way to get my girls (ranging from 7 - 17) to get into the music I like.

If anyone's interested in setting something like this up, you can PM me and I'll help with install and grab songs.

Smart draft pick. Steelers save money by only having to issue him a helmet. He can use his old Iowa uniform.
Dunker looks like he would he at home in the Scottish Games, where every event is a variation of red haired giants moving a boulder or throwing a telephone pole or something.

That plumage is radiating an aura that is probably good for a guaranteed instant two yards per play.

I'm sure there's some pics at my parents' house... but I would have to find the pics and then either scan or take pic of the pic with my phone. Big pain in the @SS. This was long before digital photography. Taken with a Kodak film camera... that had to be developed at the local drug store.

I liked this guy early on in the draft process. I thought he is a high floor/high ceiling OL. I always viewed him moving from OT to OG for the NFL. Glad we drafted him. Hope he proves to be the right pick. We have McCormick, Hoffman, and Spencer also. Should be some solid depth at OG this season.

Props to NB who is such a polite gentleman.
Halfway down page FOUR of a thread that has long ago went of the rails, he apologizes for being off topic?
We have to check the first post to realize it was NOT about music. :lolol:

I don't have the hair anymore to pull off a classic mullet. I went bald around age 30... like Captain Picard in my profile pic.

I could always do the "skullet." Bald on top and sides... with long hair, pony-tail in back. I've seen old hippies sporting this style.

To be fair, I was apologizing for derailing the derailment.

Seriously though, YARG is super fun for anyone that likes / liked Guitar Hero or Rock Band. Or for anyone who wants to become a below average rock drummer (me!) or is interested in trying to memorize some popular songs on piano (not really learning music).

Just captured Dunker and Rubio in blocking drills at OTAs (hmm, did I just see a hands to the face?):
