There is no way Allar would make it to the practice squad. He is going to be on the roster.

If McCarthy thinks he can develop the guy, then you take him. I get that. What I don't get is passing on Pregnon with the second third-round pick. Everette just wasn't worth the downgrade from Pregnon to Dunker. Even if he didn't make it to their compensatory pick, they could have rolled the dice on McCoy, who would have been a better pick anyway.

Saints take the little brother of Trey Lance. He is light years better than his brother.

it still is a really dumb pick. We probably could have gotten him with one of our 7th rounders. We picked Allair way too early as well. This is by far the worst draft by the Steelers in the last ten years. We -assed on a lot of good value. The cb we drafted was well below a lot of cb’s still in the board. How do you leave Keonte Scott on the board when you have a clear need at slot cb? We have done nothing `to help the safety room. Reached on nearly every pick except for Bernard and Junker. Not sure if this is on McCarthy or more on Khan. khan was supposed to have more control if this is what it translates too the future doesn’t look good at all for the Steelers.

If Pregnon was all that he would've went higher, and they said McCoy could be dealing with a degenerative knee issue.

Is there any news on what went wrong with Skyler Bell at #121?

I thought the Steelers were all in on WR Skyler Bell with the interviews and visits. Bills get another good WR.

    Overall a bad weekend.

I expected more from a McCarthy staff.

I agree The NFL has ruined college Football.. it's sad that a paid scholarship isn't enough for athletes today.... I bet at least a quarter of college football players cant even spell their last name... certainly not in cursive

Sure... if the goal is to enter the draft as ready as possible. The issue?! Players are coming out either ages 24 , 25 or even 26. At best, they will last a full rookie contract. At worst, they are out of the league.

Remember that the NFL is a young man's age. 21 to 23 is the sweet spot for age.

With as snake bit as the Steelers have been with injuries I cant say I blame them for staying away from McCoy.

Pregnon is better than Dunker, and he isn't going to have to switch positions in the pros.

Maybe the medicals are that bad on McCoy, but Everette wasn't worth the downgrade at guard. As someone mentioned, Scott would have been a better option and he made it to the fourth round. Don't like the risk on McCoy? Take Scott with that compensatory pick.

The fourth-round pick is just brutal. Louis just went to the Dolphins at the end of the fourth round. He was one of many options that would have been better than throwing away a fourth-round pick on a kick returner.

I heard McCarthy yesterday and he seemed to indicate that he has little to do with this draft. Saying that Kahn has been working on the draft for a year while he and his staff are just newcomers coming aboard late in the process.

That is fair, but they still could have taken Pregnon instead of Everette. If someone snagged Everette before their final third-round pick, they could have taken Scott, who is a better player than Everette anyway.
