If it makes anybody feel any better... the Rams (better-ran franchise than Steelers) are getting ripped hard for the Simpson pick, who does not help the Rams in 2026. Good Morning Football, Cowherd and ESPN shows... all torching the Rams.

Simpson was arguably the 2nd best QB in the draft, and Stafford isn't getting any younger, so I'm not sure why everyone is ripping the Rams? At least they're trying to get a QB lined up for them before Stafford is washed up. At least that's having more foresight than the Steelers did in regards to replacing Ben.

Gotta love the message board “experts” who know better than the pros. I’m not sure why Art even pays to have Omar, Weidl, and the entire personnel staff. He just needs to find the loudest fans on the message boards and social media and do what they say. Super Bowls every year are bound to follow!

The arguments I'm hearing are... Rams could have got a plug-and-play 1st round defender on the DL, LB or DB to put them over the top for a Super Bowl berth. They are only 1 or 2 players away from being the best NFC team.

I can understand that argument, but obviously the Rams see Simpson as Stafford's successor. Being that QB is by far the most important position, it was wise of the Rams to plan for the future. The Rams didn't want to end up staying too long with Stafford like the Steelers did with Big Ben, and I can't say I blame them. Could the Rams have waited until next year to draft a QB in round 1? Maybe.

I just hope that we see real competition for spots rather than what appears to have been the way it was in the past where it was an 'open competition' but really, it was already set in stone.

    Too true.

I wasn't around these parts then, but I was around other Steelers internet sites, and I remember most being pumped when Brod Jones came off the board. Now, everyone wants to claim that they called him being a bust. I don't believe it.

It was me wanting to see you admit that you were wrong, just as I had to do in one of these threads when I incorrectly claimed that most rankings had Iheanachor outside the top 30. It happens.

I didn't mind the pick. I just thought Gonzalez was the better option, which turned out to be true.

Indeed, it was the opposite with Big Al. When Tomlin brought him in, most fans saw him as nothing more than camp fodder. Then he turned into a Pro Bowl tackle, and suddenly everyone acted like they knew all along he’d succeed.

Art should at least get some of his money back for Omar last night. That was very amateur hour, he got punked by a better executive, and looked like a clown. Anyone with a brain, heart, or courage knew Philly was going to need a WR based on the reports about Brown.

Once Roseman jumped, teams below were going to lowball because the clock was running because Khan was caught with his pants down. It may work out in the end, Max is the player the Steelers need, but TBD, and they wasted draft capital staying at the pick.

I didn't care they didn't take Lemon, it was losing draft value taking a reach RT that wasn't a need and could have been had several picks later...but Khan not paying attention cost them the ability to trade down.

Art's 'paid' guys haven't produced many Super Bowls the last decade and a half. We can clearly see why..

The Rams have shown in recent years under Mcvay that they tend to know what they are doing, Steelers not so much.

That's good and all but it won't help you beat the Seahawks this season, they could've used another WR or a playmaker on defense.

Well, just about everybody agrees Khan got embarrassed by Roseman in round one. And Khan admitted he had calls to trade down maybe Max would've still been on the board, could've been a chance to wheel and deal to acquire picks for 2027.

Quite a few sites had Max as a top 30 player.

Also Stafford is one who would entertain the idea of tutoring a younger QB

I quit social media in 2018 and I've been told that I know very little about football. I don't really fit in around here.
