This team needs to upgrade at OL and DL. Just hope this wasn't a reach... but the more I read about this pick, it's looking like yet another reach.

And that's a bad thing, poor drafting, poor strategy, poor planning, unrelasitic ambitions with the talent on hand.

There's no excuse for what happened last night.

Your own comment says it all "Hoping he can contribute this season" - he's a 1st rounder for god's sake and we had 12 picks. Simply not good enough.

    The organisational slide continues...

It was totally a reach, absolute panic pick after Khan got caught yukking it up with Lemon instead of doing his f'ing job.

I would fire a GM for this.

The incompetence of Khan was beneficial to the Steelers this time. From what I know Lemon is a thug so we're lucky we dodged a bullet.

Been hearing this team needs to upgrade OL and DL for a decade. At what point will this team get players in skilled positions that need to be upgraded?

Lemon would have worked out with an elite QB and a stable football organization. Is he the residual of a Puka style pick? Probably. Philadelphia might have been the worst place to go to because their leadership is very bi-polar. One year they look like the best organization in football and the next year it’s like the Steelers. Undisciplined and mediocre.

You made it personal by trying to embarrass me. Im sick of your whiney bs.

Also you didnt have to see me stating it elsewhere, it was clear from the post you responded to.

Exactly. They ended up with egg on their face, made themselves a laughing stock and will be the butt of jokes for years and there was no reason to.

People here point out when others get something wrong. I am not sure that warrants personal insults in the reply.

This absolutely stinks of organisational complacency and comfort and familiarity being prioritised over professionalism and winning. Steelers are a mess behind the scenes IMO. Head Coach who can't be bothered to got to pro days was a fine foreshadowing of what was to come last night.

Tbh Khan has totally butchered WR for the last few years, this was the final straw for me, he hasn't got a clue what he is doing at one of the premier positions in the NFL.

    I can't have that.

Not STEELERS, Tomlin and Meyer. Both are mercifully gone.

That phone call was an absolute embarrassment for this organization although I’m Not surprised. That’s what we have become in certain ways.

I agree 1000%. I didn't care if they drafted Lemon, this is a deep receiver draft, but the incompetence on display last night was very troubling. It was borderline stupidity to not assume that Roseman would jump to take a receiver given the AJ Brown situation and trade with the Cowboys of all teams.

It has nothing to do with the player, Max could turn out to be a great tackle, but that pick was pure panic. Not a terrible reach, but they should have traded down.

The disturbing part was when the pressure was on, Omar wasn't very clutch, and they didn't have a very good plan B or C. Very troubling and that was a tactical display worthy of General Ambrose Burnside.

Khan blundered last night for sure. It was quite embarrassing. They wanted Lemon. So did the best GM in the league.

Khan best right the ship this evening. Not taking anything away from Max. He is the pick. I can live with it.

I expect some trade ups and possible moves. 11 picks left. Can carry some over.

I have nothing against the player as a person or anything like that, none of this is on him. But I see this of yet more evidence the Steelers don't klnow what they're doing and haven't done for some time. That's what bothers me, not this kid we drafted.

This is not a well-run organisation any more, I never thought I would say that at one time, but it's indefensible now. Last night's arrogance, complacency and incompetence was the final piece of the jigsaw for me.

And yet this draft is exactly like the Broderick Jones draft without Tomlin to blame it on. Reach for a project Tackle with little experience while plenty of good 1st positions are still available.
